CVGriz are you a Cat fan who is pissed off about the level of talent the Griz picked up? You seem quite defensive about all of this and you are wrong.....again. Kid had other offers. Not sure how much more proof you need. This Pic is from rivals.com since you claim that is the only legit site. Plain as day.....offered by New Mexico.

Hooked:
I am not a pissed off MSU of fan. I am a San Diego resident. I am a Griz fan that knows a few things. You were surprised that Enu was not ranked by Rivals. I just told you why he wasn't. Do you follow Rivals? Where are the visits? Where is the history? Usually under interest it will say something like "strong" or "medium" interest from the school. What, he got an offer from New Mexico without a visit? Either way, a UM offer plus a New Mexico offer doesn't make you a ranked college prospect. The guy had possibly one dubious FBS offer... He maybe end up being a fine FCS prospect but right now he is a virtual unknown in San Diego FBS recruiting...
I am telling you that because I live here. Get real...

Have no problem whatsoever with your opinion. We are all entitled to an opinion. I respect what you're saying because you're in that area and have more knowledge than me there. What I did have an issue with was you blatantly saying he had no other offers....even when it was proven to you that he did....by the one website you seem to think only matters....and even then when you see the pic, articles, and proof that this kid had other offers you can't admit you were wrong and instead flip the conversation to challenging my opinion that I was surprised he wasn't a ranked prospect. It's all good..like I said earlier, kinda a silly argument. If we both love the Griz then that's all I need.

Fine. I am still unsure there was ever was an offer from New Mexico. His Rivals site doesn't look like a normal prospects site should with detailed information. There is no history of visits etc. But in the end, it doesn't matter. Enu is a Griz recruit now.....

CV, you do realize the none is in reference to the athlete's interest in the school and not the school's interest in the athlete. Once a kid verbals, interest for all other offers is "none". I also know for a fact that he did have an offer from New Mexico and had interest from CSU (can not verify if there was an offer)

Everything I see about Daum has 2 stars next to it. Is that a different system or what? None of that means Jack. My son is the nation's no. 2 kicker/punter for his class (2018) according to NCS. But that only ranks attendees of their affiliate camps and doesn't mean much until Jr or Sr. years.

CV- Dude, what is your deal? I don't give two sh*ts about Ena one way or the other, but your preoccupation with his offers is bordering on bizarre. First you cite Rivals as your primary proof of him having no offer, then when someone proves you wrong using the very same site, you claim it's bogus because "it doesn't look like a normal prospect's site"?! So now some Ena affiliate hacked the Rivals mainframe and created a dummy page? Lol. What exactly are you saying? I don't think you even know. Anyone with even a basic knowledge of how Rivals works knows that once a commitment is made to a certain team all other interest from listed teams appears as "NONE". I'm with you that New Mexico is not the most impressive of FBS offers, but according to your beloved Rivals, HE DID HAVE AN OFFER FROM THEM. And if you're so familiar with SD prep football, then why are his listed achievements not enough for you? Decently impressive at the least if you ask me. I'm truly confused as to why you are so preoccupied with this kid's offers. It's almost as if you think he's lying.

Leave Ena alone. I am so damn glad he is coming to Montana I could spit.

If U nuts would get off the kid the rest of us will relax. I don't want him reading your no stars crap, he is a young kid for hell's sake....In my mind he is a 10 star pickup for the Griz!

Some Egrizer's never had a star. Zero!

Ummmmm there was one guy bashing him about being a 0-star.....no one else. In fact, everyone else was defending Ena and the entire point is was how surprised we all were that he wasn't ranked with the type of resume he has. Wow did you even read the posts before stroking out?

No additional scholarship offers are listed on Rivals. FYI. Sorry. UM press releases don't count...

Ha that wasn't a Griz press release. That was from his paper/news source. It's okay to be wrong bud. Kinda arguing over something pretty trivial IMO

True on arguing. But FYI, I've been a San Diego resident now for all of my 54 years. This information about Ena has never been in the San Diego Union. The kid has his own Website. Yes Ena was an All-CIF HS performer which is a great honor but that doesn't make him a top college recruit. No San Diego State offer. No Pac-12 or Mountain West offer. No Rivals ranking. Again, go to his Rivals.com page. You'll find all you want to know about him. Please, I'm not saying that he won't be a good Griz recruit. But he just wasn't a ranked player in terms
of college potential. I know your supprised by that, but that's just the reality of college recruiting.
Not technically true. That site probably wasn't updated in time but he did have an official to Boise in addition to the other. As I recall they offered a preferred but it was days before the signing.

Go to his Rivals page. No interest or other offers are listed...

That bit that reads "show all"? Click on that. You'll see the other offer.

Hello Griz Fanatics!

I'll be including myself as one too since my son Mau Ena will be playing for this fine program. I'm humbled to see how Griz Country takes their football program to the next stratosphere in regards of passion and ownership. I thank you ALL for talking about Mau. It is true that he did not receive any offers from FBS schools. Because he started playing football for the first time in high school and he has a learning disability pretty much made him an unknown until his junior and senior years. He did well in Frosh/JV. The camps he went thru his sophomore and junior years did get him noticed by Utah, USC, BYU, Washington State, Hawaii, but all know it comes back to an athlete's GPA. His GPA was under 2.5, until this year his GPA started increasing to 2.7, but it wasn't enough for CSU to be patient, but if Boise State had got a visit for him before Montana, they would have been patient and offered, the DLine coach there was very excited about Mau, but the word got out that Coach Legi was staying and Mau immediately told me and his mom that Montana is it.

I must say that San Diego has heard of him because the local news station KUSI has a football program called 'Pigskin Prep Football'. This program is dedicated solely to high school football around San Diego County. Mau was recognized at the last week of the season as the Lineman of the Week. You could see that footage on YouTube. Just search Mau Ena. You'll also see a lot of other videos of Mau. Although Mau hasn't received any offers or stars, in San Diego, if you ask the coaches from Oceanside, La Costa Canyon, Carlsbad, Steele Canyon, Escondido, Torrey Pines, Helix, etc they'd say he's someone that's deserving of it and a D1 caliber player.

Mau is definitely an "under the radar" - type player. We're just grateful for his opportunity to play D1 football, FCS even. He's a very loyal person and will give his all to the team, coaches, and community.

Our family is now Montana Grizzlies!

Glad to have you. As you can see, we are a close family that likes to "mix it up" during slack time when we don't have a common enemy, but pull together when game time comes. Our first game this year should be a crazy atmosphere, sure hope you can attend.

Welcome to GRIZ NATION and EGRIZ. Mr Ena, Mau, and family. This is one of the few times we actually know the story. We get a few GRIZ player parents posting here time to time. It is great to have you hear, and thanks for taking the time to fill us in. Disregard the few here that are negative and cross the line of calling players out.

As for your son, Mau. I was very impressed by his highlight video. He consistently collapsed the pocket against both the run and pass. He looks damn strong as well. Definitely a man among boys in most of the video we watched. GRIZ NATION is looking forward to watching his progress on and off the field. We hope you can make to some home games with your family. :thumb:

Mau has the look of a great player. The Griz are lucky to have him. Welcome to him and his family.
This. I was so glad to see Mau sign with the Griz. The kids a absolute beast! Welcome to Griz Nation! GO GRIZ!!!!

Thanks Chief. We loved his cousin and we look forward to your son being a
Griz. Hope you make it up for his games. Montana football is a very fun thing and Mau will absolutely love it.

Thank you all.

But I must recant what I said about Mau not receiving a FBS offer. As many of you already noted on Rivals, he did receive an offer from New Mexico Lobos. I wanted to make sure I corrected that. I don't like giving 'bum scoop' any more than hearing it.

Anyways we'll be there for the NDSU game.

Go Griz!!!
