Stanford article mentioning Griz

Post Script to Stanford game:

Nevada 78, UC Davis 51.

UC Davis now 1-5 (only win vs Stanford).

There's no denying that your effort vs Stanford was a big win, griz fans, but it's now painfully obvious that Stanford IS TERRIBLE.

At this point, however, I'll pick the Griz to win the Sky. Still a ways to go, though, before the conference slate gets underway, fortunately for MSU!

Actually paints the Grizzlies as a decent opponent to lose to. So there's a little bit of respect coming to Missoula. Slowly, but surely.

Stanford is not a terrible. They are a team struggling to find their niche. Just like Trent Johnson said in that article, they'll be alright.

Stanford still has Haryasz, Grunfeld and Hernandez. They have three good years of experience. I think they will be able to take care of themselves as time goes by. What was Montana to do lose the game?

It does not get any easier for Stanford. They get V. Tech next and they y be the team that almost got Duke on Dukes floor. Duke hit the 35-40 footer at the buzzer to get a win. Stanford will look much better after they win this one at home?????

Gato,

Are you giving up on Durham and the kitties so easily? They were the consensus pick to win the BSC. I can't believe you are going down that easy.

Well, suffice it to say I wasn't necessarily a "believer" in their being annointed as the pre-season #1.

I am not Mick's staunchest supporter; good guy & a helluva golfer, but I think we should expect more than 1 NCAA appearance in 15 years.

Wouldn't that put undue pressure on future kitty football teams to make the playoffs again?

You would think so...why do the Cats love Durham as a coach so much?

It's really a mixed feeling by most of us about Durham. The things that are good is the players are good people on and off the court (with one glaring exception) and the program is stable, and MSU athletics is probably not willing to pull the trigger too fast after having 6 women's coaches in the last 10 years.
