Stadium was neither cold nor loud today

Brought my kids down for their first Griz/WGS experience. They've been to Grand Forks when we play the Sioux, but never to the "Temple".

It was hot and smokey and a few stayed away but it is still the Griz at WGS! There is no better place!

Sorry if some of you didn't like the crowd or the heat or the game. We could have played better and we could have done worse.

Of course, the beer at Canyon Club was exceptional. But I say, the service staff were a tad tawdry.

Real fans are at the game, hot or cold, Skippy.

Sit on east side, sound system faded away as game went along. Probably the most subdued crowd during the entire game that I can remember. Been to most home games since WaGriz opened. In fact we chatted about the low energy of the crowd as we walked home. Heat definitely affected folks around us, many headed for shade by mid 3rd quarter.

What was the attendance Saturday? Never saw or heard it, which was unusual. I suspect it was markedly less than a sellout which probably goes with the drop in the normally high fan energy level.

You would think they would have it figured out by now, but I hope they were just working thru the early season kinks.

They were trying to keep the stadium cooler (and save power) by keeping the volume down......hoping to next year play a night game with the savings.

Does seem odd the sound system is so sporadic after all these years. Sound check anyone?

Maybe if they sent someone from marketing/music to a Seahawks or Broncos game they would learn a few things instead of this amateurish product we tend to get each game.

Believe paid attendance was 23,000+, but that's "seats sold," not "butts in the seats."

22,274 is what they posted. or very close to this. My eyes were pretty blurry by the 4th qtr when it was posted.

From the official stats: Attendance: 23160

I wonder if the Canyon Club set a record for beer sales.
