You're not a skier. Or just some clown who thinks they ski. You go to Park City from Logan. No one goes to Utah to ski Ogden. Lol.....

You're assuming he meant downhill
There were two Olympic events in the Ogden area; the downhill skiing event was held on the back side of Mt Ogden at Snow Basin, and the curling event was held on the WSU campus ice sheet. The rest of the events were within a 40 minute drive of Ogden.

This is not really an issue with BB recruits. 99.999% of them don't ski or do curling. Near Logan there is some great cross country skiing terrain, blue ribbon fly fishing, good golfing, and some good hiking and mountain biking trails.

My guess is that recruiting to MSU and USU will be similar, with USU being in a higher rated conf., if that matters to a recruit. Also, USU has a longer standing tradition in athletics than MSU. Once again, I don't know how much that means to recruits. Recruits go, mostly, to where they think they can play for a coach that they feel suits them.

Skiers who do not like big crowds near Ogden or Logan go to Powder Mountain. Way less crowded. Alta/Snowbird have been closed so often due to avalanche control and too much snow that just about all the ski areas near Salt Lake City/Park City became way too crowded. Snowbasin became the back up plan making it too crowded and Snowbasin has had so many days of limited areas open due to Avalanche Control causing what lifts that are able to open have unbearable long lines. Powder Mountain hasn't been as crowded. Better to go there. Of course, if watching a celebrity get run over by a doctor is your thing go ski Deer Valley.

Nice skiing near Ogden. One of the Olympic venues.

I have been skiing for over 60 years. I learned at Bridger Bowl. I've skied most major resorts in the US, as well as resorts in Switzerland, Austria and Italy.

I have skied many times at Snow Basin. Our college buddies used to gather there every year, when a buddy was in his residency in Ogden in the 80's. People from Ogden often go to Snow Basin. Easy drive and cheaper.

I went to the SLC Olympics, twice. A total of 8 days. Went to Snow Basin. Probably saw over 15 events. I spend time with my friend at SI, which entertains its big advertisers and others at the Olympics. SI hires about 15 former Olympians to hang with the group. I sat next to Jimmy Craig at US/Russia hockey for a period. I met Mike Erosione. I was invited to the big last weekend SI party at Club Splash. I danced with Katerina Witt and Kristi Nomaguchi. Huge fun. Lots of current and former Olympians. Many Olympians not on the guest list couldn't get in. 100's of people were trying to get in, but couldn't. I met Alisa Camplin, the pretty Australian gold medalist in the Aerials. Google her.

"Food and drinks were in high supply, as was entertainment. Barefooted, cowboy-hat clad models danced on the bars, much to the delight of the nearly 1,000 revelers.

Sports Illustrated advertisers and other Olympic sponsors helped round out the guest list, as well as members of the local and national media.

The party was the second of four Sport Illustrated celebrations planned at Club Splash, 404 S. West Temple." [I attended last weekend biggest/best SI party. My friend was the CFO of the the SI magazines at the time, and she had been one of my roommates in NYC in the late 70s.]

I have skied all of the main/big areas dozens of times, but Snow Basin has a soft spot in my heart.

You are an idiot.
