So thanks for the interview. Semb is a good writer and we're all a little less informed now that the newspaper will be covering the team by drone and go pro. I would take all three of you to task on the QB evaluations. As you may have noted from twitter this week, they've offered another guy, who may or may not accept, but the fact that they offered makes it apparent that they feel like they need help. Brown may have taken a step forward, but that's not saying a hell of a lot at this point, given he was playing against the same guys he sees day in and out at the Riverbowl. Nothing I saw leads me to believe he'll be a different guy when/if he's handed the reins this season. And a transfer coming in isn't likely going to displace him, it will be one or both of walk on guys who played in the game.

Absolutely agree they need to look for corners and perhaps a defensive lineman or two. I wouldn't breath easy withany of the kicking units as is either. And whatever they do, they have to fix the point after and field goal units. They were absolutely abysmal for much of the early season.

Not sure what you're smoking, but the QB job is Vidlak's to lose. He has the makings of a real star. #2 is up for grabs; I don't think Brown has a lock on that.

First off, no where did I state that Vidlak wasn't the guy. If you listened to the podcast, you heard all three of the participants note that they felt like Brown had improved from last season, such that they'd be alright if he had to spell Vidlak for a stretch when it mattered. That the scholarships available would be better spent on defensive players, where there was a greater need.

Without disparaging Brown any further, I disagreed. They had Jourdan in a few weeks back, and made an actual offer to another kid earlier this week. So it appears that they don't feel comfortable with what they have in reserve, should the need arise. Ok, back to what I'm smoking.

So it looks like the pink slips are starting to go out. You forgot to mention that reading is a skill.

I'm sure that we could go after a qb to better suit the team but that doesn't help our needs that our in dier needs. We have not developed QB in the recent years and that has made us go to the portal. If we don't start developing QB we will never take the next step. We will constantly looking for a stand in to hurry and learn the system to be adequate enough to get us to the playoffs. As fans we can't say anyone has made gains until an actual game is played. You don't learn much with spring games. Thanks for listening!!!

No one would disagree with your assertion. I'm not sure that assuming "its time" will change anything that hasn't appeared consistently in the past five seasons.

Not saying that its's time. Just pointing out a repeated choice and construct of the current system we have. The way college football is won in two ways 1. the trenches 2. QB. If we don't have and develop those needs we spend time filling holes rather than develop and that is just what you have seen the last 5 years. If we want more we need to change how we recruit and develop players. Just because we offer a QB doesn't mean that its the right move. We have other needs that should come before.
