Spring Game Roster

Hey, I have a neat idea, why don't you all blow me. I live in a town with 200,000 people and we had 4 starters in an NFL game in 2015. Montana hasn't had 4 starters in....ever. You are a loser state in a loser country and your President is a convicted felon who pays porn stars for hum jobs.
Our President is bending your entire free-loading country over right now. I couldn't love it more. Hope he revokes Canadian student visas soonest. Choke on the tariffs.

Why don't you pussies pay your full NATO obligation? You are allowed to live freely under the security blanket provided by the greatest country on the planet. Bunch of whiny, snot-nosed, estrogen infused beta males running your weak-ass country.

You should just say thank you.

Seriously tho - I have no problem with your political post - but it needs to be in the politics thread. It's not hard to find...but, you know this already.

My guess is the Moosehead's may have been flowing when he hit Post Reply.

So if I go side by side on the gogriz.com and the roster that was shared at the game:

#12 Blake Springer - Fr QB, Monroe WA
#26 Kaleb Shine - Fr LB, Kalispell MT
#28 Malik Lyttle - Fr CB, Missoula, MT
#32 Brant Bovee - Fr LB, Tampa, FL
#33 Taylor Jones - Fr LB, Missoula, MT
#34 McCoy Banner - Fr LB, Sun River, MT
#50 Sam Merriman - Fr LB, Seattle, WA
#55 Dawson Johnson - Soph LB, White Rock, BC
#56 Keaghn McDaniel - Soph LB, Belt, MT

Does he want to play Strong Safety? Because defense is all I want from Iowa given their recent history of offense. Our QB situation is just fine. Ah Yat is close to turning the corner and Jensen looks to be reliable
What interception of Ah Yat's last game he played has you thinking he's turning the corner?

He looked great in early spring camp, far fewer errors. Played the spring scrimmage after missing weeks of practice and played pretty clean ball hitting a lot of correct reads and made no errors. He's maturing as well.

His game against SDSU was actually a little encouraging because he did push the field multiple times and had the offense moving. He made some errors and got fooled by some cover-2 / cover-3 but that's a lesson he's probably not going to forget and will build on.

I’m not 100% sure but I think we may lose Terahiti Wolfe his highlights have been popping up alot on my Twitter and he’s cleared all his Griz stuff off instagram

I'm gonna be honest, IDK why even take Juco kids anymore. We haven't even had any that have played at a high level in a long time. Outside of Justin Ford, none of these guys have panned out.

It's spring ball and against a questionable defense. He played horribly against SDSU, and to say otherwise is living in fantasy land. Not saying he can't develop, but he is nowhere close to being a starter at this level.

The best JUCO players are hidden there by P5 schools until they can qualify academically. We get the leftovers that are made to look better because of the talent around them. That's why very few of them pan out.

19-32, 231 yards, 2 TDs / 2 INTs, 54 rushing yards in gross. His picks were bad - he didn't play "terrible" and it was against one of the very best defenses in the FCS.

SDSU had the #1 scoring defense and #2 passing defense in the FCS and returned 8 starters from their national championship team.

SDSU on average last year was allowing 272 yards per game defensively, Ah Yat himself accounted for just about 260 when you take out his lost yards on the 3 sacks SDSU had on him.

Before the Montana games SDSU had not allowed a 200 yard passer in 10 games.

Only Incarnate Word passed for more yards in single games than Montana did and UIW and that is a pass-heavy offense.

Ah Yat didn't play at a level needed to win that game, but he played far better than expected, showed growth, and gives me great hope for him to continue his maturity and growth in the game this year. Saying he played horribly - while putting up solid numbers against the best defense they saw all season is flat out wrong.

Some more things I posted a while back about his play against SDSU that were encouraging:

Did you know that Ah Yat threw for the 2nd most pass yards SDSU has given up all season to an FCS team? Did you know that Ah Yat, Cam Miller and Zach Calzada are the only FCS QBs who scored more than 1 TD against SDSU this entire season (and only one other QB even scored once against their pass defense)? Did you know they only gave up 6 passing TDs all season in 11 FCS games?

Their defense (including their garbage time backups lol) were really good.

Like you said, he did some really good things despite having some stinker moments.

He has a long way to go, but how people react to the SDSU game, to me, is a great way of discerning who knows what they're looking at when they watch QBs vs. those whose football knowledge is only as deep as the box score lol.
