Of course he appeased the have-nots; he recruited them into the conf. and sold the Presidents (that know little about football) that they were the future of the BSC. A true incompetent.EverettGriz said:My only comment would be that while I fully agree that it's the job of the individual ADs and Presidents to look out for their own interests, I believe it is the job of the Commissioner to look out for the best interest of the conference as a whole. And this, I believe, is where Fullerton has failed. He too easily buckled to appease the have-nots, when standing firm was likely the best course of action for the conference. Let's hope the new Commish is stronger willed.
As I said before, there is no place for such a championship game to occur unless you move the season up a week or drop a regular season game. I don't think the NCAA will let you start sooner and if you drop a game it would have to be the last of the season -- which for the Griz would be the one against the JV Bobcats. Playoffs start the first week in December and so an intra-conference championship game doesn't fit anywhere. Maybe the BSC could talk NCAA to start the playoffs a week later? Then they run into the holidays. NOT GONNA HAPPEN.nighthawkgriz said:What needs to happen is split the conference into 2 divisions. Like the mountain west. This would then mean the BSC would have two guaranteed playoff teams every year (and maybe only ever two). Do you think the rest of FCS is going to buy in?Griz!ron said:Grisly Fan said:As I said before, there is no place for such a championship game to occur unless you move the season up a week or drop a regular season game. You can make the first two round of the playoffs based off of regions (as we kinda all ready do) so that the two western conferences top two teams play each other, and so on across the country.

Montana Mint said:Fair point that the current rules don't allow for a conference championship, but rules can be rewritten.
Split the Big Sky into two divisions, and put the Griz and Cats in different divisions. Schedule a late September non-division game for Cat/Griz and then open up the possibility of a second Cat/Griz for the conference championship game.
We have an artcile coming out tomorrow on this, but...Two Cat/Griz games!

This is delusional. The BSC has one autobid. It is not going to get increased by splitting the conference or by adding Idaho. The BSC does not drive FCS policy.Griz!ron said:0Grisly Fan said:This would then mean the BSC would have two guaranteed playoff teams every year (and maybe only ever two). This format would mean that the Big Sky and it's split-off conference would EACH get 2 auto bids. With an increase is over all size, to 14 lets say, that would be in-line with what history says would be fair. The Big Sky typically gets 3 as it stands now. I don't see that preventing a 5th team from receiving a at large bid, but that would be rare.
If this were to happen i'd expect other conferences to pair up in similar fashion, with an at-large bids in a mini-playoff of their own.

Not bad but trade UNC for EWO
