Southeastern Missouri State Red Hawks Scouting Report

Pressure pressure pressure on defense. Whether Johnson is available or not we could very easily use a 2 quarterback offense with either Brown or Johnson and Britt. Let’s get creative and get this thing going.
Let these players go out get aggressive and have fun. Getting by SEMO is a huge hurdle but a win really could be the beginning of a great next few weeks. One thing I don’t know is the mood of the locker room. I’m hoping they have confidence in one another and aren’t letting the msu game define them. I still think this is a good team that can make a lot of noise so get yourselves, family, and friends to the stadium and support this team.

Thanks Brint. As a faculty member at SEMO, I really can't say who has the edge in this game. 1) SEMO is 9-2 and Montana is 7-4. Thus, you should think that SEMO has the edge. 2) SEMO's best win is SIU. But, that win happened in the last seconds of the game. Does Montana have a good win? 3) This game is a tossup. Semo has the better record, But, at least by my eye, Montana has played better opponents.

If the president of SEMO allows me to travel with the team, I'll be there. And, given that they are the historical underdog, I will be sporting SEMO apparel. But, I'll have a Montana t-shirt on.

Cheers,

PS. You can watch every SEMO game on ESPN+

You might want a layer over or under that t-shirt.

maybe hauck will read your synopsis (lol) and believe in your points of interest:

1. #10 Paxton DeLaurent-"If I’m the Griz, I prepare for him."
2. Put the ball in your playmakers hands. Flowers, Bergen, Grossman, & Roberts all need multiple looks and need to be heavily involved in the game. The Griz need to game plan to get these guys the ball.

I will ad special teams and gap coverage focus to round out the teams that play the game.

"Don’t bring the brawl negativity to this game". I believe OConnell and Roberts covered that in the presser.

Good stuff Brint, thanks

I’ll say what I said before the Idaho game: If we have to worry about beating SEMO for Christ’s sake, we have zero business being in the playoffs. We should boat race this team by about 30.

Good luck to the Griz. What are the odds Bobby starts Brint?

Brint Wahlberg? Maybe, but I doubt it. The opponent has too much info on Brint from egriz and social media.

Brint’s not as fast as he used to be either…

This is the best SEMO offense since we moved to DI. To answer some of your questions. This offense takes what the defense gives them. Everyone knows about Hess. You can't arm tackle him. He almost never goes down on first contact. He's very good at following his blockers and this line loves blocking for him. He doesn't appear to be very fast but he hasn't been caught from behind all year.

Our group of receivers is 5 deep with quality. The top two that were mentioned above are both NFL prospects and are very good at high pointing the ball. You can't double team everyone. Our offensive line is mainly a veteran group that has played a lot of games together. I understand that the strength of the Grizz is their defense. This should be an outstanding game and everyone at SEMO is really looking forward to it. By the way I'm pretty sure I know who's starting at QB but I'm sworn to secrecy. LOL.......

Hard for me to remember you 3rd string qb's name. Brint may have been the better choice last Saturday though - even though he never played the game.

They will...it won't be close.

If it is, there are problems we don't and won't know about...

Bumping this thread...will be interesting to see if SEMO's starting QB plays. According to their coach, he's going to. We'll see.

Go Griz!

He has said he's going to play but the final decision is up to the doctors. They have said that he can't damage his foot any further by playing. It's just a matter of handling the pain. Heck, that's easy. I had Kidney Stones and thought I was dying. I went to the ER and got a shot of morphine and thought I could conquer the world. I will tell you that this team can't wait to play this game and the toughest team we played, Iowa St., gave up 320 yds. to this offense. Now we only scored 10 points on them but we did move up and down the field. Should be a great game an national tv. G/L

I hope he can go. Hate to see good players on the sidelines. Are you in Missoula or just posting from afar?

I’ll take the under on 320.
