Looks like we caught em in a down year tho...
First time the 'Jacks haven't had a nine win season since...1979. Holy Stitt!

SDSU didn't beat NDSU. USD did.

Injury was 5 weeks ago. First game would be 7 weeks. I'll be surprised if he doesn't start. Not a Griz fan said:Not likely, only if they go deep into the playoffs. Only 4 weeks in to a 4-8 week injury.Montana37 said:So will Carson Wentz play in the playoffs?

USD is the big run team. SDSU hangs its hat on D. 16.7 points and 365 yards a game allowed in that tough conference; 55-10 win over SUU.PDXGrizzly said:Having a pissed off Crittenden back on defense will be huge in shoring up the run game. SDSU can run it (Mo Valley, what do you expect?), so his return might just be huge. Biggest issue on defense right now. Having a healthy defense is going to be huge...

Ummmmm, no. Not even close. In 2011, they were 5-6. Actually, in 2010 they were also 5-6. And in 2008 they were 7-5.
I wonder what a scouting report from SUU looks like....PlayerRep said:Their rushing average is 143, and 3.8. Passing average is 275. Have thrown 9 interceptions. Average 30 per game, and give up only 17. Must have a tough D. Have a 750 yard rusher who averages almost 6. Have played 2 QB's with the same 147 QB rating, and just about 60% completion rates. Have had 19 sacks and given up 27. They look beatable, based on skimming their record and stats.
Why wouldn't they? Not a Griz fan said:From what read on the live selection blog, they are expecting rematch with Montana.fltheadgriz said:Interesting over on bisonville they are stating that it is already going to be a conference game that they are going to play in their first game.
Buttegrizzle said:It seemed unlikely but was reported by CBS sports in the recap of SDSU vs West Illinois:
"The Jacks were denied a nine-win season for the first time since 1979. More importantly, the loss may have cost the team a high seed in the FCS playoffs and a first-round bye."

I actually like the draw. We get a chance to prove that NDSU wasn't a fluke, a rematch agasint PSU (and if we get that far, I can drive to the game!
Go Griz!
