It will be a calamitous mistake to extend Stitt's contract beyond this year.

i felt that there was something wrong with Stitt, when he chased Ty Gregorak away to put his boy Semore in charge of Griz defense. Semore sucks in comparison to Gregorak. Gregorak loved the Griz, and he was loved and respected by Griz players, yet Gregorak was willing to join the archrival Bobcats to coach their defense.

I suspect that Gregorak can't wait to show how his defensive schemes can shut down Stitt's gimicky offense. When that occurs this year, maybe Griz fans will realize Stitt is not the answer. Griz will be lucky not to lose 3 of their last 4 games under Stitt.

So a coach can’t change his staff to his own guys? That’s just a silly statement. The philosophies didn’t mesh...head coach made a change. Happens all the time.

Sure they can, but If doesn't work it is on him to fix it before too late and entire staff gets sent packing

Certainly a coach can put his own staff in. Who said that he could not?

However, if a new head coach removes a highly respected, loved and competent D coordinator, and replaces him with his relatively inexperienced buddy, who is a hack (Semore), it leads some long time Griz fans (me included) to question the competence of the head coach. Especially so when the respected D coordinator (who loved the Griz and did not like the Bobcats), then goes to coach for the arch rival Bobcats, where he will have an opportunity to show Stitt how wrong he was.

I have already seen enough of Stitt to believe he is mediocre at best. By the end of this season many more will realize this. I would rather see excellence at the Griz head coaching position than mediocrity.

I agree with both of you. Point was he replace TG. I certainly don’t think he made the right choice as d coordinator to replace him, but feel he made the right choice TO replace him, and not because of his coaching ability.
