We went out to lunch at Roscoe's in Long Beach one random day in maybe 2010. He drove a bunch of us suits in his fully-restored mid-60s Cadillac. I asked him, "Ron, what kind of gas mileage do you get in this thing?" His reply, "It's not about mileage, son." It somehow remains the coolest sentence I've ever heard.

Right?! I could've followed up with some question regarding what "It" was about, but somehow, knowing it wasn't about mileage was enough. By far the "coolest" guy I've ever met. I don't think he's ever worried about anything in his entire life. I asked him much later if it was as crazy running with Rick James back then as Chappelle's show portrayed it. His response was one word: "Crazier." He has some absolutely insane stories.

I think we as people often forget just how different people can be. We get locked into our own perspective and can't get out. Affects everything in society. I can't imagine being that laid back, just don't know how to get there.
