For those saying Aloh hasn't been dominant enough in the conference: in last game, 17 rebounds, including on 8 offensive end, and 22 points. And 4 steals. 8th in conference scoring with 16.8. 2d in rebounding with 101, way ahead of no. 3. 1st in offensive rebounds. 4th in defensive rebounds. 7th in FG percentage with 58%. 1st in steals.

On those saying Rorie has not played well enough. In last game, 19 points and 9 assists. 4th in conference scoring with 17.9. 7th in steals. 7th in 3's made, and 1st for UM.

Moorehead was 3-6 from 3, and 6 rebounds in last game.

Akoh, IMHO, has improved remarkably this season and is currently playing at an all conference level! I hate to think where the Griz would be without him.

PR, I think the true disappointments, frustrations, etc are more with bad ft shooting, inconsistent 3 pt shooting, and playing down to competition. Those things have managed to have other things blown out of proportion.

As for 3 pt shooting, it's been a consistent struggle for the GRIZ, since DeCuire has been coach. I think, some fans would like to see more consistent shooting. 1 game they hit 50, the next few games, they shoot below 33%. It would be advantageous, to consistently shoot at 40%, instead of the roller coaster ride. If this team could become more consistent, they could be a huge danger in the NCAA tournament.

Bobby is the 2nd worst 3-point shooter on the team, behind only Timmy Falls....they should leave the 3-point shooting to Manuel, Dorsey, Pridget and Oguine.

I guess you missed the 2 big 3's he hit against ISU, the 2nd at the last tick of the shot clock!

One game. Out of 19. THAT’S your case?

We've had 3-point shooter disappointments before DeCuire landed here. Staudacher comes to mind. Gfeller was a Tinkle recruit who also didn't really pan out in terms of 3-point efficiency. Every time we have someone come in who is supposedly the answer as a shooter, they just don't rise to the occasion. I would say Jack Lopez might be the only anomally of the last twenty years or so for us. He shot the 3 very well but I wouldn't say he was a pure shooter.

Bobby shot better than 40% in 7 of 19 games. while it isn't great, I do believe teams have to beware of Bobby because he has shot well in some games.

I have no comment. You know way more about basketball than I do.

I talked briefly with Travis and Moorehead tonight. I think they were fired up about the win. Bobby apparently got engaged today. Go Griz.

Two things everyone also should be looking at - #1 Akoh seems to be finally healthy hand wise & #2 Moorehead is probably our best defender. That is all I have to offer!

Without Bobby's rebound and 3 at Reno last year, the Griz are not in the NCAA's. For that he gets a forever pass from me.

Yeah, well we could use him THIS year too...playing 4 on 5 offensively isn’t helping.

   I rank Bobby's play (combination of the rebound, dribble to the left wing, pivot & shoot for a trey) as one of the TOP FIVE in Montana hoops history. It was one of two (that I remember) that directly resulted in Montana yanking the Big Sky Title from oblivion & hanging it from the rafters in Dahlberg Arena... forever.

Would the other be Dan Trammell's put back slam on the offensive rebound to stun our neighbors to the east in their house for the chipper during the conference tourney? Or maybe it was Anthony Johnson's gigantic night against Weber in the Purple Palace during the conference tourney? Go Griz!

The other PLAY was indeed Dan Trammell's magnificent mid-air put-back slam from the right baseline as time expired. I didn't count Anthony Johnson's game as a play; I'd rank that as the outstanding game by a Grizzly player that ended up in a championship... that allows some leeway for the greatest single game (I'm thinking Eric Hays vs. UCLA).

I wasn't born yet for the Eric Hays game, but in 15 years of following Griz basketball, the Anthony Johnson is the single greatest performance I've ever seen from a men's basketball player (earning an ESPY nomination in the process). 42 total points, including the last 21 fro the Griz to overcome a 22 point halftime deficit...all while losing vision due to cataracts.

:thumb: AJ's game is legendary in Griz hoops. But he was more than that. I interviewed him many times and he was an enthusiastic ambassador of Griz hoops... sort of took Will Cherry under his wing (publicly, by my observation) and always had a sound perspective of the game. His first year here he took some flak (some serious trash talk) from Bobcat opponents in a late-minutes loss to the Cats in Missoula. He handled it with grace... but played like he never forgot. I always thought he'd be a good coach. Think about him often & hope he's resolved his eye issues & doing ok.
