Sorry that all got jumbled together when I posted it, the one that says yards per game is total yards per game.

Stats mean nothing. Winning is all that matters,

I was really surprised to see the best numbers being put up when SSH and McKinney were the QBs running the spread, but the defense could not cover the pass that season. I am concerned with the downhill trend having a senior at QB and having the staff in its 3rd season.

Most of us are too. But if stats mattered, cal Davis would not have lost to the Cats after putting up 600 yards of offense. Remember under Hauck, the Griz would lose the offensive stat battle in most games, but still win the game.

Here are the defense stats for comparison sake.

2010 Allowed 150 rush and 140 pass for a total of 290 a game.

2011 Allowed 137 rush and 190 pass for a total of 317 a game.

2012 Allowed 93 rush and 288 pass for a total of 381 a game

2013 Allowed 143 rush and 238 pass for a total of 381 a game, and that seemed like a big improvement over the year before, but it was the same.

2014 so far allowed 180 rush and 177 pass for a total of 357 a game, and alot of these games have been against teams not known for offense.

And the offense vs what the defense allowed stats..

2010 Offense 374 Defense 290
2011 Offense 421 Defense 317
2012 Offense 453 Defense 381
2013 Offense 453 Defense 381
2014 Offense 357 Defense 357

Crazy that the only difference between the 2012 and 2013 teams was JJ and that lead to alot less turnovers which meant more wins and the playoffs.

Look at the numbers that year in the first half, compared to the second half.

Another big difference between 2012 and 2013 is the number of very good teams on our regular season schedule. 2012 we had 4 teams on our schedule with 7 or more D1 wins. In 2013 we had 2 and a lot of mediocre to bad teams to beat up on.

Another difference is that UM scored 63 points in the 4th quarters of '12, and scored 149 points in the 4th quarters of '13. The 4th quarter was by far the lowest scoring quarter in '12. My recollection is that offensive production went down in the second halves, in many games (especially the ones UM lost), in '12.

I did not take the time to look into all the scoring numbers, I am just shocked that this offense is so poor this season, because I did not think it could get any worse than Pflugrad's first season with Roper trying to run that spread.
