Some Preliminary BSC Possibilities

NAU can finish no worse than 3rd in the league. The only way for this to happen would be for NAU, UM and EWU to end up in a 3-way tie at 10-4. In this scenario, UM gets the tie-breaker because they swept MSU and EWU would have it over NAU because of RPI.

The other 3-way tie scenario would be NAU, UM and MSU to be at 10-4. Once again, UM would have the tie-breaker because of head-to-head record of 3-1, then NAU at 2-2 and finally MSU at 1-3.

There is no possible way for a 4-way tie at 10-4.

Montana

Montana can finish no worse than 5th. ISU and PSU cannot catch them and UM holds a tie-breaker over WSU with the MSU sweep.

With one more win, UM guarantees a finish of at least 4th, with a tie-breaker over SAC with the MSU sweep.

Two wins, with one of them over EWU would guarantee a minimum 3rd place finish, with a tie-breaker over EWU with the EWU sweep.

Three wins would guarantee a minimum 2nd place finish, with a tie-breaker over EWU with the MSU sweep, or a tie breaker over MSU with the MSU sweep. There is no possible way for a 3-way tie at 10-4 with EWU and MSU.

UM can still win the conference.

Montana State

MSU has clinched a playoff spot since PSU cannot catch them and they hold a tie-breaker over ISU with the ISU sweep. If there was a 3-way tie for 5th at 6-8 between MSU, ISU and WSU; MSU would take 5th with a 3-1 head-to-head, WSU at 6th with 2-2 and ISU at 7th with 1-3.

MSU can still win the conference, if EWU finishes ahead of UM.

Eastern Washington

EWU would clinch a playoff spot, if NAU wins the conference, since PSU cannot catch them and they would hold a tie-breaker over ISU with the NAU split. Same tie-breaker applies in a 3-way tie at 6-8 with EWU, ISU and WSU.

EWU can also clinch a playoff spot with a win.

EWU can still win the conference.

Sacramento State

A win against UM would probably clinch a playoff spot, since PSU wouldn't be able to catch them and the tie-breaker against ISU would come down to RPI.

A win against NAU would clinch a playoff spot, if NAU wins the conference.

SAC can still finish 2nd in the conference.

Weber State

Two wins, with one over ISU would clinch a playoff spot.

WSU can still finish 3rd in the conference.

Idaho State

ISU cannot clinch a playoff spot without help.

ISU can stilll finish 4th in the conference, if UM wins the conference.

Portland State

PSU cannot clinch a playoff spot without help.

PSU can finish no higher than 6th in the conference.

Better assume that 11-3 is the only way we host. The odds of NAU going 0-3 the rest of the way seems pretty slim to me.

Great breakdown. We did our part to help you out with NAU, I just think they're too far ahead at this point for anyone to catch them.

Looking forward to the EWU/UM game in Cheney, should be a good one.

The two road losses to the bottom feeders have hurt our chances indeed. NAU would need to lose 2 of 3 in their last Conference games and we would need to go 4-0. NAU losing 2 of 3 is possible, the Griz going 4-0 is what worries me most. But I'm going to hope for the best. Even if we lose the next game we're still alive if NAU loses. But then they have to go 0-3, and we'll have to win out. It's going to be tough and take some luck.

hurt yes but that also means that someone is going to have to beat nau which i think is darn near impossible right now

you could have drilled them *wsu and isu* by 50 and still be in second place.

Well no, if we had won at WSU and ISU we'd be tied for first.

Not sure if it's impossible. We beat 'em, so Montana/MSU probably both have chances to beat them as well.

Some minor updates before I hit the sack.

Montana

Montana can finish no worse than 4th. SAC, WSU, ISU and PSU cannot catch them.

A win over EWU would guarantee a minimum 3rd place finish, with a tie-breaker over EWU with the EWU sweep.
