Only two appear to be pure running backs. I expect Hauck to search in the off season for a hard-nosed, bruising Lex Hilliard-style RB who can run downhill with anger, good vision to find the holes (hopefully), pass block and catch out of the backfield. He's out there. Somewhere. You know...the kind that does not fumble in the big game.

I hope you are right, but holding Lex as the standard is going to be a tough one for Bobby to meet. He was an NFL talent. Not a lot of those in college football period. Shit, I'd be happy with another Jordan Canada.

Calhoun might be available if nothing else opens up.

I thought Drew Turner was gonna be that guy.

Recruiting has always been a strength of Bobbys.....he has consistently found big time talent thats been overlooked by power 5 schools, and consistently wins recruits our rivals are after. Say what you want about Bobby but that has always been his MO

I used to love this one from Bobcat fans. Most of them realized about 10 years ago how silly it was to attempt to knock a program for playing the cycle of winning and raising booster funds.

It's like UCF fans telling Gator fans the only reason they have better facilities is because they have a history of winning and big booster donations. Nobody says that, however, because nobody wants to look like a fucking idiot.

Why do some people want a big running back who can run downhill? Hell, I'm 51, out of shape, no knees and I can run downhill. I'd rather we find a big running back who can run uphill, that shit is hard.

And have been for the last 9 years. Agree. I have no problem getting some of their recruits.

UM has one of (if not) the best stadiums, fan bases and training facilities in the Champ center. The only thing that can prevent UM from once again getting great recruits is winning. If Bobby can get it back on track sooner, rather than later, the recruiting machine will be running like it was during the great days.

Academic limitations (no engineering etc) will always cost them some recruits but that was the case back then too.

Players like big crowds, nice facilities but even more winning. Start winning and it will be what tips the scales.

Start going deep in playoffs every year you also get what amounts to about an extra year experience (practices and games through December for 3-4 years equals about a full season of practice/games that playoff teams get to develop and improve). So what most schools have as juniors playing is more like having seniors. Much better experience level across the board. Not getting playoff games really hurts long term success against the NDSU type schools.

Outside of a few, the names of whom many will surely soon mention, the hard sciences have not traditionally been the way of DI FB players. I don't see much limitation there.

I agree 100% Ursus. NDSU plays in a glorified barn and if you look at the video of their new locker room, once again, in the barn with no room...does not even compare to the Champions Center. If you can be dominent on the field like they are, the rest is icing on the program cake...

I agree 100% Ursus. NDSU plays in a glorified barn and if you look at the video of their new locker room, once again, in the barn with no room...does not even compare to the Champions Center. If you can be dominent on the field like they are, the rest is icing on the program cake...

But they also pay full cost of tuition don’t they?
