Could this be used for football coaches as well? Do think this would help keep coaches in Montana rather than being a stepping stone?

an interesting tidbit written into Coach Tinkle’s new contract. An incentive based on “money games” that adds to the salaries of Coach Tinkle and his assistants. Tinkle must generate $80,000 per year in “money game” guarantees, and is able to share any additional money up to $150,000 with his assistants.

Hmm, the only additional games a football coach can earn is the playoffs, which are generally regarded as money losers at the FCS level. And I would assume UM coaches already earn bonuses for how far we go. So I'm not sure there is a whole lot UM can offer there, unless we just start further under-reporting the gate to the NCAA

We do pay on how far we go, but there are other opportunities, instead of bringing Division II schools her to beat up on we could get a guranteed pay day for being the one to get beat up. What I have never been able to figure out is we lose to a Minnesota, Washington etc. It counts against us for seeding . Beat up on someone and its no help at all.....

It seems to me that it is much easier for the Bball team to schedule a money game (or games) than it is for the Football team.

It would be nice to know the amount the BB team usually generates from guarantees for reference. The interim AD said it was pretty tough to get $80k per year. So take a small number, then divide it by 3 or 4 . . . probably not going to be that significant. But it's better than nothing.
