Soccer vs. Ohio State

Ends with a 2-2 draw.

Before the season that would've been a great result against a Big10 team that has been to 3 consecutive NCAA tourneys. However, I got to say I'm a little disappointed because this looked very winnable throughout. Griz looked too hyped up especially in the 1st based off a lot of heavy touches. Griz uncharacteristically weren't controlling the ball real well and seemed to want to get rid of it right away. On the 2 OSU goals close together in the first, seemed like the backline was playing off the ball and the lack of aggression (or fear and giving too much space) seemed to be what cost them. The good news is in the 2nd half they seemed to calm down some and played within themselves and looked more like they have been capable of this season. Griz scored first and last and looked more in control of the game in the 2nd half. Also, set new attendance record of 1,900ish (old high was just over 1,090).

Bottom line: Griz are now 3-0-1 and still undefeated!

Replay on ESPN+ (BTW, shows we really need lights installed at South Campus...I think we had a no contest a couple years back because of darkness)

Agree... but its still a Big 10 school
and
Missoula doesn't ever get a home game in any sport against them!

I hate ties.... But this one might be the exception!

I'm not sure if there was something schematically that was rushing Griz players but it wasn't as if OSU was pressing super hard in comparison to other teams I've seen play this year. Would've been nice to have Andrew's insight as a color commentator, as he seems pretty knowledgeable on such things.

(later on there was a clearer highlight of Walters' PK goal and how the OSU GK had no chance but it's not on Twitter yet to share here)

I agree, I thought we should’ve won the game. We had lots of good opportunities especially late in the 2nd to win the game. I’ll take a tie over a loss, but man that was a missed opportunity!

The ladies owned the 2nd half. It would have been great to get the win, but there's no reason to hang their heads with that effort!

Agreed. Missed opportunities for sure, but didn’t give up a loss. Keep it rolling, Griz.

Side note: I took my daughters to the ACFC game against the Seattle team tonight. I have never seen a crowd like that for a women’s pro soccer game (perhaps because it was my first women’s pro soccer game). It was a fun time.

Sorry to just regurgitate their Twitter but since they have a relatively low followers count (>4k...travesty since whoever runs it does a great job), here's some better highlights and views of the crowd:
