So someone explain Portland State to a person who has only paid partial attention for the last few seasons

I think that PSU was "gotten" because of what seemed like real upside potential for the team and school given its enrollment north of 24,000 students. However, it was just a mirage or pipe dream by some who want to ignore the giant shadow cast by UO, OSU, the Timbers, the Trailblazers, the Thorns, the Oregon coast, Mount Hood and other things competing for entertainment dollars in the Portland area. There are just so many options and the "Portlandia culture" of the younger folks here means watching the Vikings isn't even in the top ten or maybe even 20 things to do on a Saturday afternoon - and never will be.

Very true. A nice 3:30pm Saturday brunch featuring free range, PANcakes will always take precedence over violent DI sports in Portland. If only we could have everything so figured out.

They'll look good for one series, make a bunch of stupid mistakes and penalties, and eventually fall way behind and start cheap-shotting.

That sums them up for 10 years.
