Not to mention that an AppSt team that was undefeated and finished in the top 4 would have access to the playoff (that is until everyone comes to their senses and realize that an 8-16 team playoff would bring in HUGE $$$$$). Being in the middle group gives them that chance (no matter how small of a chance there is). There's still A LOT of money to be made in FBS football. Can't say the same for FCS football where money is getting smaller and appearances on national broadcasts are getting smaller as the FBS conferences seal up any remaining spots on the networks to get their games on TV. Even now the FCS chipper has been sent to ESPN2 in the middle of a Saturday.

The stuff that dreams are made of-ain't going to happen.

Upper echelon teams leaving for the FBS will only hurt the FCS or eventually kill it. Sad news is those leaving for greener pastures or at least bigger pastures will not nor ever be on the big stage. They will be lost in the middle forever.

I have news for you. Other than about 15 teams, they are all lost in the middle. The landscape of FBS football has changed forever. Even the PAC 12 is lost in the middle!

Auburn was good for one season, because of one player....they are trash, lots of better programs in the SEC than Auburn

I think the more likely reality is that the FBS will further subdivide into BCS with a possible couple of hanger-on conferences and non-auto conferences. The full-schollie FCS level will likely merge with the non-auto remaining conferences and form a third level. This has already been discussed many times, ask your AD. I guarantee the WAC would piss themselves if Eastern announced they wanted to make a move, and Eastern is light-years away from being a legitimate FBS prospect institution. My point in mentioning that is this... how desirable is just "moving up" if that's where you get stuck?
