This past weekend after the UNI game a few people I hangout with were discussing who the new Montana coach might be. It is of interest to us since we play the Griz next year. I would finally like to win one against you guys.lol. Anyway.. one of the guys who is somewhat in with the higher up $ supporters at UNI said they are hearing it is waiting on a certain team to finish their run in the FCS playoffs.
I don't know that I totally believe anyone outside of the AD department at Montana would know this. But I believe 100 percent this guy telling me this, is telling me the truth of what he heard. He was with some people in the upper circles of UNI football, and that is what was said. The question... is someone spouting off, or do they have a connection to the supposed person being looked at that is "still in the playoffs?"
I do not know what to believe. It does seem to make sense, as to why nothing has been said by your AD. But man, your AD is walking a tight rope it seems to me in taking so long. Signing day is approaching fast.
On the other hand though, I honestly don't know if that matters for Montana. You guys kept Green for a reason. Maybe your AD is being told by Green that things are okay with signing day, and told to take time to make the right choice. What do you guys think? Maybe with Green in there, the time of signing day is not as big an issue as we think?
Just for the record I only played Junior high football. lol. So I really do not claim to know the in and out of all this, and how it all works. My knowledge is based solely on just following football as a fan. Not in anyway an insider.

With the way Stitt got fired and how it happened reading the newspapers, i just don't see how that is the route he would be going if in fact big time boosters were involved in not letting him give a one year extension to Stitt. I would assume those boosters had someone in mind they really wanted back in Missoula. Someone they knew. Someone who has won before at Montana. Someone who said they wanted to come back.![]()

3 more days to get the job done....pathetic job by AD. Other programs can get "their guy" in a couple days

Oh trust me. He is putting his job on the line just as much if not more if his choice varies from their choice.

Question: Where were " they" when Engstrom canned O'Day and Pflu six years ago? This is a honest question, as I have no unnamed sources. Not trolling.
