So 1:00 hmmm ....bullcrap

I heard an announcement could come Friday @ 2:00 pm but nobody knows, for sure! When it happens it will happen. As long as they hire Bobby Hauck I'll be happy! Dec. 20th is early signing of recruits so it needs to get handled soon!

I will jump in here and throw out a rumor from outside of Griz Nation. This past weekend after the UNI game a few people I hangout with were discussing who the new Montana coach might be. It is of interest to us since we play the Griz next year. I would finally like to win one against you guys.lol. Anyway.. one of the guys who is somewhat in with the higher up $ supporters at UNI said they are hearing it is waiting on a certain team to finish their run in the FCS playoffs.

I don't know that I totally believe anyone outside of the AD department at Montana would know this. But I believe 100 percent this guy telling me this, is telling me the truth of what he heard. He was with some people in the upper circles of UNI football, and that is what was said. The question... is someone spouting off, or do they have a connection to the supposed person being looked at that is "still in the playoffs?"

I do not know what to believe. It does seem to make sense, as to why nothing has been said by your AD. But man, your AD is walking a tight rope it seems to me in taking so long. Signing day is approaching fast.

On the other hand though, I honestly don't know if that matters for Montana. You guys kept Green for a reason. Maybe your AD is being told by Green that things are okay with signing day, and told to take time to make the right choice. What do you guys think? Maybe with Green in there, the time of signing day is not as big an issue as we think?

Just for the record I only played Junior high football. lol. So I really do not claim to know the in and out of all this, and how it all works. My knowledge is based solely on just following football as a fan. Not in anyway an insider.

Would not doubt it one bit if either guy is a Mormon

From the Big Sky Conference only Weber State and Southern Utah remain... I just can't imagine Haslam would be waiting for another coach within the FCS to finish out their season. With the way Stitt got fired and how it happened reading the newspapers, i just don't see how that is the route he would be going if in fact big time boosters were involved in not letting him give a one year extension to Stitt. I would assume those boosters had someone in mind they really wanted back in Missoula. Someone they knew. Someone who has won before at Montana. Someone who said they wanted to come back. :)

Someone off the NDSU staff, perhaps?

3 more days to get the job done....pathetic job by AD. Other programs can get "their guy" in a couple days

Sorry.. left out the important part.. it is rumoed to be someone from the Missouri Valley conference. Yep I know.... from what I read hear on egriz, it has to be someone with ties to Montana etc. Don't know.

Like I said this is just rumor from UNI supporter, so most likely not true. Only posted it because as this drags out it seems like a slight possibility. Waiting for the team to finish playoff run makes some sense. People on here said if it was Hauck they would wait until his last regular season game. That has come and gone.

Anyone here know, is there someone in the Missouri Valley conference that would fit the bill, that has ties to Montana? One of the upper guys at one of the Dakota schools maybe?

Really should have had our guy before we let Stitt go.

No Iowa Loco Dude,
What you posted could be accurate. Though it seems unlikely to me UNI boosters would have the inside track on the process out here.

It is a fact Bobby Hauck is under consideration, came to town, and was interviewed. Otherwise everything else you read here (or elsewhere) is mere speculation. Including that boosters are picking Hauck to be the coach. It is a fact the folks with big dollars will be heard. Yet there is no reason to think Haslam will put his job on the line by accepting 'their' choice if he doesn't think it is the right choice.

The AD has stated others have expressed interest in the job. However, he has not given any names, nor even stated if they are going through a formal application process. It's possible he has a short list beyond Hauck (perhaps even with a coach in the playoffs).

The anxiety here is this could be a lengthy search process. Patience is not a virtue found on eGriz.

"Yet there is no reason to think Haslam will put his job on the line by accepting 'their' choice if he doesn't think it is the right choice."

Oh trust me. He is putting his job on the line just as much if not more if his choice varies from their choice.

Question: Where were " they" when Engstrom canned O'Day and Pflu six years ago? This is a honest question, as I have no unnamed sources. Not trolling.

"They" didn't know that "we" would be here....."today." And it was a done deal before they could weigh in, unlike now.
