Funny at the 9 minutes remaining mark they announced Sneed as the player of the game. I said to my friend, kind of early don't you think? Sneed then proceeded to amaze and prove that was the best choice!

They always announce the player-of-the-game about that time. I have complained to those around me at every game.

That sounds like a great deal of fun.

I keep getting this feeling that Sneed could win the Payton award and some on this board would still be yelling that Jensen was better. (Not saying he's going to... It's just an example).

Can't we just be happy for our QB1 and the team?

Love Sneed.

Love Jensen.

Can't we like both our current QB1, our former QB1 and the team?

Sure. Just like we can talk about how we like both the Griz and the Cats. And how much we like Gregorak.

actually don't think that is it. I think it is more that for whatever reason every thread hyped about Sneed, someone has to take a shot at Jensen that either isn't accurate or is not apples to apples to compare.

I am absolutely pumped we have Sneed on our team. As Everett said, it doesn't have to be mutually exclusive, we can like Jensen from last year and like Sneed from this year. If people wouldn't keep taking shots at Jensen as a way to compliment Sneed, we would probably see his name very little on this board.
With rare exceptions, "Once a Griz, always a Griz," is a fine sentiment (and I mean that sincerely). Jensen put in his time here, sweated and competed hard for UM. He's playing elsewhere now, and reports show he is doing well. We can feel good about that without using it to tear down somebody who is here now, sweating and competing hard for the university. Comparisons -- woulda, coulda, shoulda -- are totally pointless. Personally, I hope Jensen's JC stint goes well and he gets another shot at D-I football.

Yes exactly.

Well, everyone seems to agree with me that the announcement is made way too early.

I don't doubt that. Seems like the best way forward.

If Jensen went to the cats he would be hated just like Gregorak is now. There is no coming back from that.

Above, I did say "with rare exceptions." This would be one of those.

Exciting thing is that he has only played 4 games for the Griz so far. He should only get better as he gains more experience. Hopefully, he can continue to gain more confidence in his line and taking the time to let some routes open up before checking down or scrambling. He had a few routes that opened up wide open that he just did not see. Regardless, he will get there and is a talent. Not sure if we've ever seen raw speed like his at the QB position for the Griz before. Also, appears to provide good leadership.

One thing I really like about PR. He still likes, respects and can enjoy the opponent. I’ve lived in Missoula for over 50 years, and the hate the Bobcats thing is one of the dumbest things I continue to see all the time. They also represent Montana, and I will cheer for them every time, all the time except for those days when they meet the Griz. This is sport guys, not a war.

Nope , "still hate em" (including gregorak) #FTC #RTD

First off we can party like it's 1869, the facial hair is classic and he is now living in Amish paradise.
Second he has an infectious charisma and natural leadership qualities that can't be coached
Third he has a Missoula crazy quality about him, is he so crazy that he is good or is he so good he can be crazy, he makes me laugh just looking at him and I respect the way he approaches his craft.
Fourth glad he is a Griz

A rivalry is not, and should not be, the equivalent of a multi-decade and multi-generational war, in my view. To me, an athletic rivalry should not be bitter. It should be enhanced competition.

Players who played for the Griz or Cats can do and think what they want. My view is that too many Cat and Griz fans get carried away with the rivalry.

Harvard was Dartmouth's main football rival when I played. I still don't particularly love Harvard and an element of the rivalry remains, but I realized long ago that I have much in common with Harvard, Harvard football, and former Harvard players.

I think players/coaches and former players/coaches don't ever hate each other as much as the fans. The guys inside the lines probably have more understanding and respect for one another. That's maybe why we see hand shaking on the field and fist fighting in the stands. There are many exceptions, however.

Maybe its a multi-generational war for some, for me its just a fun rivalry. I'm sure some take it too far, but I like despising another team, as do most die-hard NFL fans.

Yep. Reminds me a bit of old Reese Phillips.
