Smoke screen?

I bet we have as many threads on this over the course of the next week as we did with the cold in the Coastal Carolina game.

I know that this might be a bit of a stretch, but... could the smoke give the Griz an advantage? I don't know if anyone ever actually gets used to it, but the players have been conditioning, practicing, and scrimmaging in it. They might be better acclimated to it.

It really started to roll in thick here in Great Falls last night and today. I can only imagine what Missoula is like.

Yes, I think this is really a stretch. First of all, the fires are wide spread around the west. There have been days recently when the smoke has been thick at least as far east as Miles City. I wouldn't be surprised if some has found its way across No Dakota to Fargo. Secondly, if the Beeson aren't acclimated to it, they will quickly forget about it as the game progresses. It would be an occasional annoyance at most.

We're beginning to experience some swings in temps. One day it's autumn and the next summer again. So I'd guess the possibility of a very hot day might play more of a factor than the haze.

Either way the line play is apt to decide the outcome much more than atmospheric conditions. :ugeek:

Yup. Every year before the season starts there is always a thread about air quality..

AQI in Missoula: 175
AQI in Fargo: 15

oooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh man! THEY WONT BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT!!!

I'll bet the starting QB's dad has already tweeted about it too!

How about the Liberty game from 2012?? That was extremely smoky and we played through it pretty well. Maybe the bizon would have a hard time breathing over here. We practically practice in it every day.
