Smackdown on Tankle Street...

Mods please lock or move this. If you are going to bash someone at least give them respect enough to use their given last name. In this case "Tinkle"!

Honestly to GOD, at this point Tinkle's record is average. Just like our basketball program in the overall scope of college basketball, is AVERAGE. I swear some of you think this is the MECCA of college basketball. This program has never been anything more than a stepping stone basketball position, same with football. The difference being our football program has earned the high expectations, that any coach here is expected to maintain. As much as I would love to see our basketball program do that, it has not!!!! It is senseless calling for Tinkle's job at this point.

This basketball program has only had a few tastes of great seasons. For the most part this program has been an average run of the mill small to midmajor basketball program. If and when, our program consistently earns a top 30 status, then bitch all you want about average records. Until then, realize we are a program worthy of the expectations our football progam is!!!!!!!!

Tinkle is just fine, and feel free to find a coach that can/will turn this program to a NCAA elite or even top 30 program nationally.

The Griz are far from being a Midmajor or a top 50 program they are not even top 100 and that's why people on here feel there needs to be a change. They at best are a low major and fall in the 200-100 rankings. I agree with you on the nasty bashing of Tinks, there are certainly better ways to get a or make a point.

For the record SB16, I admit some your opinions about Tinkle, I disagree with. However, you usually do not cross the line in how you voice your opinions. I for one, cannot stand the way CSA posts his opinions. Right, Wrong, or indifferent he is for the most part disrespectful. At least have the common decency to stay away from name calling and calling out those who disagree with you.

With that said, I have ZERO respect for CSA. Believe me it took me everything I had not to call him a few names on my mind (Thank God it is a message board).

the latest bball posts by you ladies make those on the football board seem almost literate.

eh....Austin ...

Why don't you say these things to TInkle yourself sometime?
Have a nice day and GO FUGG YOURSELF. :D

Maybe you should take your own advice and tell Austin to Go F himself to his face. Now that would be respectable as oppossed to hypocritical.

Cause Austin is someone who hides here in Seattle and lobs bombs at everything Missoula.

idc how you look at this. Tinkle has taken this program and turned it around. we were GOOD. we played hard and with motivation. BEFORE Tinkle was the coach. Tinkle has not shown any forms of leading this team big places. I think its time to find a true Head Coach. And let Tinkle AC or help the highschools or something. He was a great player, not so great HC.

I also think it's somewhat troubling that his coaching does not improve year to year, and many of his players do not get better year to year. Rundles, Hasquet, Qvale. Don't know what to make of it....

I think its very obvious on how to view Tinkle's progress as a HC.
We have a perfect parallel example in Selvig. He recruits good players, they improve year by year, and they always play with intensity. Tinkle has not shown much progress in the improvement area, and the intensity level is sometimes there, but not consistent. My hope is that he will grow as a coach, recognizing his weaknesses, and either compensate them with helpful assistants, or remold himself..I think this is his year to show great improvement, or a change is needed.. Too much raw talent is here right now, and to continue to not develope it , is a travesty to those athletes who came here to become better.

Very well put. Hasquet was oozing with RAW talent as a freshman, and he's still on the raw side. Qvale is as RAW talented as you can get in BSC basketball and he seems to be digressing. Maybe Montana just does not have the coaching, or athletic support to polish these guys.

We have been playing some good basketball lately. Why don't some of you Tinkle critics comment or are the wins a accident. Yes, I mean you Colaustin.

I like Tinkle and think he is doing a pretty good job with what he has to work with. My couple cents worth is the first two wins were largely due to the superhuman efforts of Johnson. Of course Tinkle told the team to feed the hot hand and they responded.
The Sac State game was a win. Sac State is really really bad, as bad a BSC team as I have seen in awhile. The Griz shot out of their minds to open up the game and the bench stepped up.
I still don't see an honest , "callin for the ball" true center on this team but I don't think Tinkle can change Hasquet now , grow Sharpie to 6"11 or magically make Qvale's hands softer (and stronger) or teach him some post moves this year.
From what I saw of Selvig against Sac State he prefers to play outside but at least showed some aggressiveness rebounding. He may be our best hope to convert from a athletic 7' tall SF to a 7" center but he needs to put on about 40 pounds and get some playing time.

People who only climb out of the swamp to post when they have something negative to say lead a truly sad and pathetic existence.

Careful I hear Mr. T coming to lock and lecture or degrade.
