So, I was at the game today, seated in a spot that afforded a great view of Tankle during the course of the contest. This was an absolute beatdown that was far less severe than it should have been thanks to the kind gesture of Romar putting in the entire supporting cast with a very good amount of time still left.
After UW made the first big run I observed two things up close that were very apparent:
a) The Montana players clearly had quit, were going through the motions, and knew they had no chance. They were getting outmuscled and outhustled at every turn. Brockman only put in 25 on an ankle that still is not full up, and it was clear that these were Tankle's players trying to man up - in short, no heart and no drive.
b) Tankle moped on the sideline with his arms crossed and head down like the assistant he should be, not the leader of a team of any kind. People next to me were outright mocking him and in complete disbelief that he was the person in charge of the comedy we were watching.
I heard that the fools gave him a 3-year extension. For what? His sub-.500 record is laughable and exactly what I predicted would come about. I'll be checking back after the tourney with my dead on prog. from the day of his hiring. Trust me - you'll love it.
Only bright note - it was good to see Opie back in town, but he really should be playing D-1 QB rather than wasting 4 years toiling with a putrid coach.
