Sitting here in Flipper's.

This thread has been very entertaining fellas. My dad talked about him and his buddies playing music at a bunch of these bars mentioned.
They played in the seventies in Missoula, Pablo, and up the Bitteroot. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Makes me miss my Pops and his stories.

My dad played in a Missoula band called Cirrus back in the mid 70’s. They played all over town and up 93 as far as Whitefish. Maybe some of you old heads heard them play.
Besides playing in the band, he was also quite the foosball player. One of the local bar owners used to call my dad and his playing partner up when ever out of towners would start running the tables at his establishment. The bar owner made good money backing them and they drank for free🍺. It was the 70’s man👍🏻

11pm - 12am Happy Hour at 8-ball Billiards! "Everybody get their homework done. We're going to 8-ball for 1!"

Ranier Chocolate Thunder on tap!

I remember $1 pitchers at 8 ball. And dime beers at the Trading Post Saloon. Do I sound old?

Same timeframe as me, so you must be!

Don't know how it is now, but back in the day, on Friday's, you could be at Happy Hour from Noon until 2am somewhere in Missoula all except 2 hours. One of those hours was 5pm - 6pm, just enough time to be back the the Food Zoo for dinner!

I've been to the limit in many of these wells, but not Flipper's. I bet the all, without exception, will be playing the NC game on Saturday though so some of you will have to boycott!

Nah, we'll be watching with high interest. Just like you were for our 7 trips to the natty.

What was the name of the Mexican place downtown that had Happy Hour from Noon-5pm on Friday's with $5 liters of margaritas and free hors d'oeuvres?

So, have any of you tried Flipper's yet?

Are you thinking of Vito's? On Broadway?

I don't think so, there was a disco downstairs.

that place went through a few incarnations. alas, i remember stumbling in and out, and seeing some bands there, but the bar names escape me... i do, however, remember the boardroom well, back when a guy named phil owned it.

It was, and the Jekyl and Hyde became the Acapulco. So we've come full circle on the initial inquiry about the Mexican restaurant with the disco in the basement.

I grew up a long time ago Kem, as a griz fan. I've watched my stare of griz games including chippers. Not all, but most. I watched nearly every griz game this year too. It's a lot easier to hunt in the fall when you can record them. :thumb:

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!!!!

A group off us would go together and everybody would throw $5 on the table for liters of regular and strawberry margaritas. When those were all gone, 4 or 5 people would remain and each throw another $5 on the table for round 2. There was also free chips and salsa and a few other hors d'oeuvres to graze on. Good times!

No shit. This happens about as often as Haley’s Comet coming around…I wouldn’t miss it for the world!
