"Simple" Offense

This topic is not new to the Board and I am sure many are tired of reading about it. If that is you, click out now. But I cannot help myself.

After the Eastern game, the following quote was made by EWU junior defensive trackle Josh Jerome, "Their offense is a simple offense. We knew they were going to keep it simple. We knew what they were gonna do." Bobby's philosophy is that great execution wins games and it doesn't matter if the other team knows what's coming, win your one-on-one and we'll be fine. Obviously, it worked quite well against the shitty defenses of EWU and CP. MSU's defense is much better than either of those.

Then I read Brint's MSU Scouting Report where he states "MSU is going to have some wild-ass stuff for our defense I'm sure. Chambers passing to Mellott, double reverses, WR passes, power runs, you name it." This gives me offense-envy. How come we can't do some "wild-assed stuff"?

We knew Bobby Ball was coming when he was rehired. But it does make me wonder how many out there subscribe to it or would rather see some creative wrinkles that keep our opponent's defense honest? What say you?
The offensive game plan against MSU will not be the same as the offensive game plan for poor EWU. Bank it.

Why deploy "creative wrinkles" in a game when it is not needed? You've already forgotten the 74 yard TD strike to Bergen isolated on Anderson last year on the second play from scrimmage? Creative wrinkles don't have to be trick plays, they can result from good scouting.
Man you are optimistic. I hope you are correct but I have doubts. I want to bet on the game but my doubts are so far preventing that.
