Silence

I have noticed the absence of posts from notable posters in the last 48 hours. No words of wisdom in this hour of discontent? You must be content with what transpired. Silence is acceptance.

What transpired that you would like words of wisdom on? I certainly would try to accomidate you. I rarely give advice but when I do I prefer a Heineken.

What direction the discussion goes is not important, but ignoring the problem will not solve anything. A rational discussion is probably beyond the ability of many eGrizzers. For THOSE, silence is golden. The first step, is to admit there is a problem.

Sorry I’ve been busy but I think if the players just would listen to Bobby and get more points than the opposition then games would go your way

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've been off of Egriz a lot more lately and I realized that there are some people here that just aren't worth engaging with because they don't have a rational back and forth, they just state their points louder and get insulting.

I never claimed we would go undefeated. Plenty of great Griz team seems to lose a game early that we shouldn't. If you had told me going into the game that we would lose by 3 at North Dakota, which is a notoriously hard place to play (they have won their home opener since 1986), I would have shrugged and said "that sucks, but not surprising." I hated the way we lost, but me bitching about it online doesn't do anything to help fix it. Our team has problems, glad we put this game on tape at this point in the season so they can start fixing it now.

The NAU loss was way worse last year. The 08 Weber loss sucked, too. If we go out and lose another before we play the Davis game, then I will worry. It is damn tough to go undefeated in college football, and I never was expecting us to go undefeated this year. The Grizzlies under Hauck's tenures have seemed to get better as the season goes one. Take that for what you will.

And, lastly, I will always default to supporting the kids and coaches in public forums. They put way too much time and sweat equity into the program for me to bash them from behind a keyboard in my comfy little office chair. I know some others on here feel the same, and you just won't hear it out of me, win or lose. Current players shouldn't check here, but sometimes do. Recruits check out egriz, and family of players comes here. You won't ever catch me talking shit about anyone after a loss. Catch up with me with a beer in my hand on my back porch, maybe I drop a couple more f bombs about it, but not online. Never online.

Any discussion about what is happening with Griz Football is a start. I have merely pointed out those who avoid mentioning that there even IS a problem. I have planted the seed of discussion, now let's see what sprouts.

There has been plenty of negative discussion. There doesn't need to be a daily two minutes of hate among Griz Nation for the team to set things right. Angry posts and half-informed football opinions posted on Egriz do literally nothing to help the team move forward. What is happening with Griz Football is that they had an imperfect first two games with plenty of tape to work with fixing mistakes, and the team is heading into a perfect "get right" stretch where they can come out swinging, find out what works against some non-Missouri Valley competition, and start rebuilding the momentum and confidence that carried us through last year. The coaches put in a hard Sunday getting ready for meetings and practice to fix things up this week. The kids have been hitting the film and the weights. The Coaches and players were even more frustrated than the fans, and I guarantee you more tears were shed by people within the program than anyone without. They have re-committed to this season and each other, because they have a long season left and we don't have a locker room full of quitters who doubt themselves and their team at the first loss. That is what is happening with Griz Football.

Great weather on the horizon, and should be less smoke heading into Saturday, so we can all get out and have a wonderful time cheering on the team that we all support in our own style. Should be fun to watch as the team grows and settles in over the coming weeks.

Catch ya'all after the next one. Go Griz.
