I don't believe I'm too far out on a thin limb by suggesting my clients have, on average, substantially higher net worth than do PR's clients.

And now that that dick measuring contest is over, I think we can safely say the coach chosen will have a negligible effect on giving.

Really? Okay, clients include Paul Allen in Seattle and founder of RightNow Tech in Bozeman (sold to Oracle for $1.8 billion). What ya got?

No Montana Football Hire Yet Says Gregorak

Montana defensive coordinator Ty Gregorak said he knows “nothing official” about the Grizzlies filling their vacant head coaching position Monday evening.

The Griz, searching for a coach after Mick Delaney retired following the 2014 season, were reported to have hired Colorado School of Mines head coach Bob Stitt by Fox Sports.com’s Bruce Feldman on Friday, but athletic director Kent Haslam dispelled those reports in the Missoulian, saying he had not offered the job to anyone at that time.

More reports surfaced Monday that Stitt had mulled over the offer with his family and had accepted. Those same reports stated that Gregorak would be retained as Montana’s defensive coordinator, but the 36-year-old said he could not confirm that. Gregorak said he has “never met or visited with” Stitt.

Gregorak, who just finished his 11th season as part of the UM staff, said that he “would love to stay” in Missoula, where his wife, Kelly, is an assistant volleyball coach at the university. Gregorak added that he thinks an announcement on the UM football job will come sometime this week, though he couldn’t speculate on who the hire might be.

The Missoulian’s Fritz Neighbor had reported Gregorak as one of several finalists for the position over recent weeks, along with Stitt, former Griz head coach Bobby Hauck and Washington receivers coach Brent Pease.
I'm sure you are right and I am wrong. Ted Dawson(KBZK Sports Director) is kinda dingy anyway. Just thought I would share what was on the news in the Gallatin Valley, not saying it's gospel or anything.....

Ha. I have no idea who will be named, well, I mean I have a pretty good idea but stranger things have happened. Dingy reporters have been spreading this news since Friday.

Nothing "official"? Nope, egriz hasn't heard anything official either. When did TG's wife change her name from Candace to Kelly? Hasn't met or talked to Stitt. Guess he's lucky
a certain poster has been putting in a good word for the him for the past few weeks.

Haaaahaaa! My dicks bigger than your dick! Sorry, I'm not a name dropper but there is a lot more Silicon in Montana than you might think.

"Hasn't met or talked to Stitt." Yes, I thought that was an odd thing to say, unless it's true.... and if it's true it seems odd.

With all due respect to the parties, and in an attempt to diffuse this, I can attest to the silicon comment. The first set of fake jacks I encountered was/were in Missoula. That said, I believe they were the saline variety. You know: over the muscle; 1997 style; you can see the seams on the side if you want to? Not ideal, but fake jacks were fake jacks in those days.

The world just got in a big hurry with fake jacks. Before I knew it, I had no idea with what I was dealing.

I got a bigger dick.

Along with over 1,000 accredited investors (think: Boeing and Nordstrom pension plans) as well as over 100 hedge funds.

Yep. My dick is definitely larger.

And still NONE of this has anything to do with donations decreasing when a particular coach is hired. But PR, you continue to try and convince yourself that you're the BMOC and we'll pretend to give a shit.

Ugh..I just keep thinking of how proud both of your collective "clients" must be to be listed on this board. Proud indeed.

An individual accredited investor only has to have a net worth of $1 million or be making $200,000 a year. They are a dime a dozen. Pension plans and hedge funds don't donate to universities or for athletics. They have investment restrictions and fiduciary duties. Owners of hedge funds do the donating. A relevant question would be how many of your customers have donated a million or ten million to UW or UW athletics.

Don't know why you think a discussion about whether big donor types, or people capable of donating a million or ten million to a university, have certain traits or get used to getting their way a bit more than people without that much money, has anything to do with being or wanting to be a BMOC. I don't doubt that you have customers who are accredited investors or have significant assets. Don't know why you felt the need to post that your customers had substantially more net worth than my clients. By the way, at that point, I had not indicated that rich people I've been around are my clients. In fact, most rich people I have run across over the years are not my clients, but people I've met or dealt with or done business with.

Apparently people you know make unrestricted investments and donations. Most people I know or deal with don't make unrestricted investments or donations. And some of them are more inclined to make donations to organizations that they believe are going in the right direction, are aligned with their philosophy or interests, and/or have leadership that they have confidence in. Personally, I don't see how what I just said could even be controversial. It's just the way it is. That doesn't mean that any athletic donor at UM is going to pull back a commitment. I never said that; I never thought of that. But it does mean that it's possible that UM or Engstrom won't get the reception or result they want in the future. To me, that's just human nature and common sense.

Would it be safe to say that Stitt was none of our big donors guy? Really the only candidate out of the BIG 3 that doesn't have Montana ties or any ins with the University.

If a donor pulls his gifts because of who the choice of coach is, I question whether they are a very good fan to begin with. People should want the best for the program and that doesn't always mean everyone gets what they want. If they decide not to give, I imagine the school will carry on and likely someone else will step up.

We don't even know who the coach is for sure at this time anyway.

Looks like you never played the game of giving or asking for a multi-million dollar donation. It would seem to be awkward to ask for a huge donation from someone who just asked that X be hired as the coach, when Y got the job. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm just imaging that people with tons of money are sort of used of getting their way. Maybe they just say, hey, no big deal that you didn't listen to me, how much do you need?

Are you serious about this? I feel like I'm watching a bizarre soap opera right now. Let me get this straight. So Ash retires. I'm a potential huge doner, and Cruzado/Fields know it. I call them and say, "You know, I've been thinking about kicking a couple million into the football program, and I really like Van Diest as a head coach, wink wink." They don't hire VD but rather hire Stitts. I'm pissed. Are they really supposed to hire VD in this situation, in PR's world? I must be missing something here.

Sorry to interrrupt the cock fight here... but did it get this about right? Just trying to figure out if this is really how you people see the world.

1) Nobody thinks this way.
2) You are reaching, again.

I guess I might be reaching, but how do YOU interpret what PR is trying to say in the bolded portion above?

PR doesn't represent "you people". Nice try though.

I realize that given the "competition" level between the cats and griz that smack talk categories are at a premium, but you are reaching.

The biggest argument is going to be defining successful. What person defines as a successful, another wont. For something anything othe than a NC is not a success.

I'm on record as saying 8-3 next year no matter who is hired, whether it be Stitt, Pease, Hauck, Saban or my personal top choice, Eric Taylor from Dillon, Texas. The Griz fall to NDSU, EWU AND MSU. Playoffs will be a bubble because of the 11-game sched, but I think the Griz squeak in, and with all that UM lost, a new HC and still being on NCAA probation, I would consider that a successful season. But that's just me.

8-3 with the others. 9-2 if Eric Taylor gets the job and brings Tim "Wrong Place Wrong Time" Riggins (I think he has 3 to play 2 left). Another HC with a hot daughter wouldn't hurt, either.
Man, I love the Eric Taylor references. I wish there were a thread devoted only to him.
