Hard to say. Adam Jones is good and pretty comparable to Gillman. Julius Davis is good when healthy but he's missed a lot of time to injuries. White played a decent amount in 23 but not much last year. Rocker and Fonoti both got minimal time for us last year that I'd say they're still unproven a bit but will have ample opportunities now that Ostmo is gone. The thing though is when healthy, they have 3 proven, veteran guys. I believe once the season gets going we will also have 3 proven guys that I think it will be pretty even.

Man it's a toss-up but their RB room is stacked too. I think individually Montana has the very best back in Gillman.

Where I'd give MSU the nod (for now) is their solid and consistent play they get from their OL, and they've got a great group again this year. Even if Montana's RB's are better individually - at this point - I'd give MSU the nod just because of known OL play/blocking compared to UM's which has returning starters and a ton of transfers.

No question it was better before they started losing players. It’s a bit more even now. Like Brint said though, they’ve definitely had more consistent better O line play and they are a much more of a run heavy team then we are, both of which will help their RB’s look better then most teams. Also, like Brint said, we clearly have the best RB1.

No, UM is way better. Cat backs get hurt too often and don’t stick around. Cars backs won’t be as effective with D’s haven’t to focus on Mellott on every play. Griz backs have had more speed too. We’ll see how season goes.

Nope. In the last multiple years, UM’s rb room has always been better and deeper than MSU’s.

Through last season, the Cat’s lost only one good rb.

I don’t agree that the Cat rb room is stacked. They can’t keep their guys healthy. They don’t have top speed. Not having Ostmo will hurt some.

I don’t think Jones is comparable to Gillman at all.

It will be interesting to see if the cat running production falls off now that defenses don’t have to worry about a sub 4.4 40 qb pulling the ball and running himself.

You guys saying MSdui has better RBs because they have a better OL…do you hear yourself?
It’s like asking which girl has the best rack and picking one based on having the best asset.
