Cat recruit Newell was the overall game MVP.
Gufstison (sp) was the best qb on the field but wont make it at the FCS level without some major improvements.
All the rest were pretty sloppy and ho hum, it looks like it really is a down year for talent in the state.
Oh right huge down year in talent  We'll see how many kids from your "loaded" in state class from last year ever make an impact. I would take Gustafson over Jake Bleskin RIGHT NOW. Kidder will terrorize your program for the next 4 years and LaRowe is a few years away but has great feet and is a kid you missed on. I can't believe Bleskin is your backup QB. Yikes. The Texas QB you signed is definately the future.
Did Kidder play yesterday? I watched but didn't see him? I would think TERROR would show itself a little more?
Too bad Ben Stroh is wrestling as that kid can play (nose for the ball and tough).
Yeah, Kidder and another um OL recruit were on that west OL that got beat like a rented mule all night long.
2 um recruits that will make players are the Harris kid (LB) and the WR that played for East.
I watched the game twice, and rewinded every play 5 or 6 times both times I watched. So I have a good evaluation of the Griz and Cat players.
I admit, the MT Gatorade Player of the Year, #54 had a very quiet game, having that title. He had some nice blocks (fairly mobile when he pulled and sealed) at RG, but he took some plays off when he was uncovered in pass pro and even in the run game at the 2nd level to some extent. But having a quiet game is the nature of the beast for an OL to the casual fan that doesn't break down film.
Where he should have shined more for the fans would have been at DE. He played there as well, but I didn't see him have a single solo, or even an assisted tackle. How about a sack or even a QB knockdown? Nope.
Don't get me wrong, the guy is a specimen for his age. He should end up (down the road) as a fantastic FCS player. But he definitly blended-in at this All-Star game. However it was just that, a charity game with friends...so I'll give him some slack for not going out and trying to kill someone on every play. :thumb: (like he better do and will come this fall)
The West OL that you are refrering to is from Bozeman ironically. He, Weyer, did wiff/ole on one block that lead to a sack. But overall I liked what I saw out of him. Good feet, and good size for a blind-side left tackle. Gonna be good.
LaRowe got beat once as well, that lead to a QB hurry/incompletion. But is a good-looking future FCS offensive lineman.
Bo Harris has a great frame, will be a good DL for the Griz.
It's rare for a tackle to go a whole game without getting beat around the edge once...
The big guys the Griz recruited are definitly big bad-asses...they just need to develop into the men they are going to become. The Griz are in great hands with all these new biggins!
