I know...but to equate Baker's departure with what's going on internally is absolutely retarded. The guy got a chance to put a professional team on his coaching resume...that is PRICELESS...even if it IS a pay cut (which I highly doubt).

You really dont think the happenings in Missoula have anything to do with his decision?

I think it is a win/win for him, get NFL experience on his resume / get the hell out of a cancerous program

I assume this is part of the NFL's minority internship program, which is just for summer camp. Many college level coaches around the country participate in this program.

Good to hear, glad coach Baker has this opportunity and the Griz get him for at least a little longer. Coach Hynson (the new TE Coach) has participated in the the same program multiple times.

Hynson has also had assistant jobs at Quincy (2004) and Willamette (2003) and did an NFL minority coaching fellowship with Seattle in 2008, Oakland (2009) and Kansas City (2010), where he worked with the receivers.

Congrats to Baker, but this isn't exactly good news for UM. I wonder if the firing of Pflu and the interim-coach issue influenced his decision. As I've said all along, this is going to be a continuing issue for UM.

Glad this is temporary, as he is an outstanding coach and one of the best recruiters (if not THE best) in the Big Sky. I would have been suprised to see him leave this time of year given how dedicated he is to the Montana Grizzlies. However, a guy who is that talented as a coach and recruiter probably won't be in Missoula much longer..........

Sure. but I don't think you do. Compare the Griz coaching staff with NFL experience with the cats NFL experience and the cats come up short (as usual). No wonder the recruiting gap is wide and getting wider...
