Tripling his salary would mean he would make only 31k more than Smart made THIS year BEFORE the new K. He's gotta be worth at least double 122k a year, right?

FYI, VCU is not a small college. Of the Final 4, its enrollment is the largest. I have not checked the official enrollment figures, but have heard it is over 33 K enrollment. They have chosen to not be an athletic boy for decades. That is changing now. Look for them to put major $$$ into football to in the next 5 to 10 years .

They in time will be where they belong as bigger boy They have the resources, alumni, population, interest, and enrollment to move up the ranks, easily and rapidly. I see them being an ACC team in 5 to 10 years.

Shaka is the just the beginning of this commitment to athletics. Rightfully so, in my opinion.

This is probably also a result of their not being a lot of high profile jobs left... NC State is the best job open right now, and that is not exactly a end of career type place. Good move by Shaka, good move by VCU.
