Perhaps this will change your minds? They're busting out the pumpkin and mustard for tonight's game....

They looked good..wish they would keep them...alas.
But, I have to say, with such bad weather and heavy snows, it takes a die hard fan to trudge to the fieldhouse for a game with the last place team.
I was there at 5 and the tailgate had 100+ people all over 50-60 years old....they can get out in the snow and get to the game but you lazy 20-50 year olds with better vehicles cant? Its pathetic. Ill laugh when tinkle leaves because he doesn't have the community support he needs to build a mid major program. Less than 4k for senior night.. .on a Saturday....its a joke. The um box office has said that football returning season ticket holders is at a low. Last year not a single game sold out. Face it our fans are not what they use to be. Our programs will soon feel the side effects. Btw the maulers game was packed last night...so I don't think the roads or cold was an issue

The student section was probably the most full that its been all year.

Honestly this whole complaining about attendance not being higher on Senior night is really dumb. I'm sorry, but whether you like it or not, roads WERE an issue that helped cause the lower attendance. We were planning on coming up this weekend from Helena, but the roads were too bad to drive on to risk making the trip. Good on you for those of you who were able to make the trip, but don't knock those who couldn't. It's not like we didn't want to be there.

Not to justify low attendance at Griz games, but it's a nationwide phenomenon. Aside from the big "basketball schools" (Duke, Kansas, etc.), there are many empty seats in every arena at every game. Yesterday, watching the UCLA-Oregon State game, we were struck by how many empty seats there were down close to floor level, much less higher up. People simply don't go to games like they once did, and that's a fact.

From 2012 to 2013, average men's hoops attendance for D-I declined by 73 per game. UCLA's average increased the most during that period, up by an average of 3196.

I think the Big 10 conference is up. SEC is down. Big Sky average was down 69 during that period. Did the Big Sky add new team in 2013? If so, I suppose that may have had an impact on the average.

"SEC teams enter the final month of the regular season averaging 10,126 fans per game in announced attendance, down 1 percent from last year at this time. SEC teams averaged 10,571 fans in 2012-13, third in the country but its lowest since 1986-87.

Half of the SEC's teams' crowds are up and half down in 2013-14. Many of the teams that are down possess some of the largest fan bases: Missouri (23 percent decrease), Tennessee (11 percent), Vanderbilt (11 percent) and Alabama (10 percent). All four of those teams may be left out of the NCAA Tournament."

The student section was probably the fourth largest of the year. Three games this year students had to start sitting upstairs because of there not being more seats. That did not happen on sat. I'm not dogging on anyone out of town. I'm dogging on the lame group of Missoula fans who pretend the roads were an issue. When I see a huge group of 70+ year olds at the game...its pretty obvious the roads were not that bad. Those are the ones I'd expect to stay home. But the faithful fans showed up and the fair weather....excuse finding fans were not. The U has been doing bbetter the last few games to market. Our fans are just not wha they used to be and maybe I should get used to it. I don't expect football attendace to be that great this year either. The U is dying sadly.
