Comparing opponents is always a fool's errand.

For one, as pointed out, NAU didn't have Cookus. But also very much worth pointing out, the two games being used to compare were both home games for the Griz, and both away games for the Cats.

Besides, UM murdered a Sac State team that beat the Cats last year and well look at Cat/Griz turned out.

Comparing opponents is not a fool's errand. It is one of the best ways to compare. You other points are fair points.

And like many here have pointed out, we were on our fourth QB—who hadn’t thrown for quite some time.

NAU probably should have won, but they didn’t and that’s that..

After a very poor start, our D has been playing well. Strahm is a different player the last few games. The MSU D is pretty pedestrian; would be awful without Bignell.

Saw an article about Sims that talked about HIS transformation the last 4-5 games as well....I think the whole D is maturing and beginning to play much better together as a unit...

I was looking at the defensive numbers over the last 5 games a few days ago.
Sims has been playing great. His numbers have made a big jump as well over that period.
Also, Chris Favoroso re-entered the line up after basically a 3 game benching after 1st series of the savannah state game.
In the last 5 games he has 6 sacks and 12 TFL. If I read it right he is 1st in the conference in both over the last 5 games.

Coincidence? Maybe.
