Feeler? Feelers? Is there anyone paying attention that did not know this?

Hey bitch....can you read? Maybe check your facts.......I said DT not DE.....and the below information isn't my made up material...came from Payton's list.

Not him teaching a lesson....just a lesson in what can happen if you recruit to one sided of the line of scrimmage

Sweet Jesus you're a drama queen.

Josh Sandry (S), 6'1", 190
Jerrin Williams (S), 6'2", 200
David Fa'atuiese (LB), 6'3", 240
Nolan Timmons (S), 6'1", 250
Jesse Sims (DE), 6'4", 235
Dante Olson (LB), 6'3", 225
Cy Sirmon (LB), 6'3", 225
Andrew Harris (DE), 6'2", 215
Donald Bedell (DE), 6'4", 240
Yamen Sanders (S), 6'4", 210

That's TEN guys he brought in last year. And I'm pretty sure all of them are on full scholly. The fact that WE don't know about someone doesn't mean offers aren't out there. There's a 3-star and 5 2-stars on the current offer list, plus guys with walk-on offers to Big-5 schools...something tells me when the dust settles we'll be just fine on the "other" side of the football.

Last year 0 DT's so far 0 DT verbals..if he signs some I will admit my paranoia, but if not, 2 classes in a row without solid DT recruits seems a glaring area of concern

Didn't we sign one DT last year that didn't qualify academically? Also lost another at the very end that was committed if my memory is right, could be wrong here. So really had two very good DT's last year that didn't work out.

as far as the non-qualifier.....if a kid is in danger of being a non-qualifier I would hope you have other options (getting through NCAA clearinghouse can be done far earlier than February if the academics and test scores are good. If kid hasn't? That is a redflag on MANY MANY issues. As for the one who was "on the hook" sure didn't pan out. This year looks like the D Davidson kid is the one they really want, but looking at his Twitter seems FBS is calling so what is plan "B"?

Coached DB's and special teams this year. Look at how special teams improved this season, kicking, punting, coverage. The pass defense was also great this year too. Lots to be hopeful for if he's the guy.

To hell with the special teams...look how our CORNERS played this year!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

In my opinion this team just got better....cut out the cancer! Stitts show now, his kids now....his program now. Lets ride this horse to the chipper. This is exactly what this program needed. We were coasting on our past for over a 5 years now...just maintaining to be "pretty good" instead of GREAT! This is the shock to the chest that we need as a program...and watch Stitt get this monster rolling again...coupled with the best facilities in the FCS coming down the pipeline....everybody watch out...Montana is coming for the chipper and were bringing HELL WITH US............

I think it's been made pretty clear here several times that Longoria is expected to slide inside and play DT. He's already WAY bigger than any DE we have on the roster, and the same size as currently departing DT's.

Is his dream any different from Bobcat fans who automatically think everything will be better in Bozeman next year? You have the same problem as we do. You have one legitimate DT (Yates) and he ended the year injured and had shoulder surgery after high school. You have no FBS quality defensive backs, and your QB1 last played in high school and reportedly has maturity issues according to various posters on BN.

Right now dreams are all we have.

Ursus....sometimes your top 4-5 at a position just doesn't work out....then you have to balance out whether taking a kid at a position that you don't like just to take 1 at the position or take kids you like somewhere else....IMO they get a pass for last season....if they don't find any this year.....worry....but they are looking...

From an outsider who is a big fan of Stitt since his Colorado days.

My hunch is Semore will be your new DC. And you will be very happy!

I had a dream too... that MSU lost their superstar QB, replaced him with an average coordinator, and somehow became the playoff contender they claim to be but never are. Wait a minute, that's a fantasy.

Look how kick coverage improved? Did you miss NDSU take one to the house on us in the last game of the season? Just saying

One the whole year, which somehow was repeated the very next week against UNI. The other team pays a ST coach as well. They were significantly better than last year, thanks to Semore.

Someone once said Offense buys tickets Defense wins championships.

While there is definitely a need for more quality linemen on the offense, let's not forget that the defense will have 8 of 11 starters gone, including all linebackers and 3 of 4 interior linemen. They also graduated a non-starting LB that played valuable minutes. Lot's of untested players to plug in. Not sure how that will all work out, especially if there is not balance in recruiting.

A case in point is at MSU. They started 2 untested true freshman at CB this year. How'd that work out? Better yet, how did they get themselves in that predicament? Lack of recruiting balance?

As coach Stitt mentioned earlier this month "now is the time you win games." Yes, it is his team now, his program, his staff, and soon his recruits.

Each of the 8 starters had backups that got playing time this years. None of the graduating seniors started all 4 years. Many of last years RS Freshmen look like they could start the next 4 years, as do many of this year's commits. I see our talent getting bigger and better from the ground up. A couple good transfers to fill holes and the team continues to improve. Sheesh, our doomsayers are as over negative as Scat fans are over optimistic.

Yes, 3 of 4 "starters" are gone from the D-line (Crittenden, Wilson & Holmes). But we have Johnson, & Schye at DE and Kidder, Peevy, Bradley, and Davis at DT who all got lots of playing time this year. In addition, we add Jesse Sims (DE) & Donald Bedell (DE), to the mix, and Chadderon, Mertes & Tilleman for depth and Stitt has already talked about a couple "older" players to come in and play right away.

LB: With Strahm, Sirmon, Olson, Thomas and Fa'atuiese ALL back battling for the starting jobs and Cochran and Smith for depth and I still think this will be one of our most talented overall positions on the field.
