Not him teaching a lesson....just a lesson in what can happen if you recruit to one sided of the line of scrimmage

I am not sure that Stitt would see it any different right now than he did yesterday....or last week...

Those who "know it all" don't know Stitt.

The dude's in way over his head.

maybe....maybe not....but he is 1-0 against the Cats.....

Sure is, won't deny it.

I hate to say this, but, I'm not certain it matters who the DC is if they aren't given the chance to get the players they need. I'm very worried about the recruiting ratio, and, while it may never be known publicly, it was one of the biggest factors in what transpired today.

Me too...hopefully Stitt took this as learning a lesson about Defense recruiting importance

why would TG going to cowtown teach Stitt a lesson....

Not him teaching a lesson....just a lesson in what can happen if you recruit to one sided of the line of scrimmage

Sweet Jesus you're a drama queen.

Josh Sandry (S), 6'1", 190
Jerrin Williams (S), 6'2", 200
David Fa'atuiese (LB), 6'3", 240
Nolan Timmons (S), 6'1", 250
Jesse Sims (DE), 6'4", 235
Dante Olson (LB), 6'3", 225
Cy Sirmon (LB), 6'3", 225
Andrew Harris (DE), 6'2", 215
Donald Bedell (DE), 6'4", 240
Yamen Sanders (S), 6'4", 210

That's TEN guys he brought in last year. And I'm pretty sure all of them are on full scholly. The fact that WE don't know about someone doesn't mean offers aren't out there. There's a 3-star and 5 2-stars on the current offer list, plus guys with walk-on offers to Big-5 schools...something tells me when the dust settles we'll be just fine on the "other" side of the football.

Sure seems to know what he's doing on the recruiting front. 8-) 8-)

I think almost everyone would agree that our biggest need is the offensive line. We have a great class already, never have had this much talent coming in on the line. Stitt could see, especially against NDSU and even SDSU that we had a big need here. Next biggest need is the defensive line, that's probably at our level the hardest position to get. Have a feeling we will see a couple or even three guys here. We are loaded at linebacker for the next few years. Lets relax and give Stitt time here. Turmoil never works on a football team, I think if we really knew what was going on behind the closed doors, Gregorak wasn't going to be a part of this team next year. Had lots more to do than our recruiting, Stitt is smart enough to realize that everyone must be on the same page. Not taking Stitt's side here, but he is the boss, has to make these hard decisions. Time will tell, change isn't a bad thing. I can remember when MSU hired Huse from us and many felt that he was the next great coach for the Griz BB program, many felt much better than Tinkle. See how that turned out, so much information we will never have on these decisions.

I have to agree that is an impressive list of talent that he's brought in on the defense. But that wont quiet the nattering nabobs of negativism from spouting off.

Last year 0 DT's so far 0 DT verbals..if he signs some I will admit my paranoia, but if not, 2 classes in a row without solid DT recruits seems a glaring area of concern

Didn't we sign one DT last year that didn't qualify academically? Also lost another at the very end that was committed if my memory is right, could be wrong here. So really had two very good DT's last year that didn't work out.

He has mentioned a couple of times that DT is one of the areas he intends to bring in a transfer...

You and your darned facts.

Just to be fair, Cirmon, Olson, Williams, Sandry and Harris were all committed to the Delaney staff. I''m not saying Stitt would have cut any of them loose, but, I know for a fact, he wasn't allowed to. Anyone who applied for the job was told immediately that all scholarship offers were to be honored.

So what happened to Woody Brandom if his scholly was supposed to be honored?

So what happened to Woody Brandom if his scholly was supposed to be honored?

Woody Brandom decided to go elsewhere after talking to Stitt about what role he would have since he doesn't use a TE....it would have been honored...but Woody had no desire to switch to another position...mutual parting of ways..

At the FCS level, shut down corners and big DT's are the hardest to recruit. They are playing at the FBS level. Occasionally, a late bloomer slips through. We lost 2 DT's last year that we had on the hook. Guarantee Stitt knows that. Recruiting is hard work and we are competing against other teams for the same people. We have a great program, a great environment, and improving facilities, but we are still the sticks to a lot of people who don't know anything about Montana.

Thanks box, all verbal commits were honored upon Stitt's hiring. Brandom was told he wouldn't be a TE, not that he didn't have a schollie.

Once again it is Cy Sirmon. There is no Cirmon on the team.

Why would Choate contact Ty if Ty did not put feelers out that he was not happy in his present situation?
