Semore on Kidder and the defense

I once asked TG about the above chatter on Tripp. He said Tripp had the ability to play in multiple positions, i.e. lining up at backer, inside or out, playing down lineman, and playing in a safety position, but no he was not allowed to line up where he wanted. In fact, TG was a bit incredulous at the question.
Thanks. Amazing the bs people come up with. I kind of expected better from Brint though.

Maybe you can clear up 5700's bend, but don't break defense that appears strong statistically.

Don't understand the bend-break comment, and don't have any background on that. One additional comment. Regardless of what players are supposed to do and where they are supposed to line up, they sometimes make mistakes, and do things that they aren't supposed to do, or just react poorly to plays. Some do this more than others. I would guess that last fall, when other teams were getting the occasional long run, players were making mistakes or reacting poorly and allowing the gaps to be open and uncovered. That type of big play is normally caused by a mistake, not a wrong or a bad defensive call, in my experience. However, some offensive calls can put alot of pressure on defenders, if the defensive call gets them in non-advantage position. Most of this is luck, but some of it is the skill of the play-caller.

Care to translate or elaborate for him? Were the players just trying to pad their stats?

In other words f*** Traitorak..time to start WINNING
Why so bitter, wasn't he basically told by stitt to get lost?

Lol he was, and I just dont like him cuz hes a Cat now. It was a better move for both parties......when you change out your engine oil, you don't want to leave any sludge behind!

I took it as a slight "knock" on the Gregorak/Paulson 4-3, bend but don't break defense. Statistically, on paper, that defense can appear strong. But on the field it has weaknesses which can be exposed and those deficiencies don't necessarily translate through to the statistics, which can look alright.

I could be waaay off base however.
A bend, but don't break defense looks strong on paper statistically? Yeah, I can see where a bend but dont' break defense has weaknesses. Like a prevent defense does. Seems to be the nature of that defense. How do you expose a defense's weaknesses, but not have them show up on paper.

I know, I hear ya... Again, I could be way off. Just throwing it out there.

In 2015 defensive end Tyrone Holmes completed his tenure as a Montana Grizzly with the crown jewel of FCS player awards, the STATS Defensive Player of the Year. With a national-best 18 sacks it's easy to see why the all-American earned the title of best defender in all of FCS football and now seems to be destined for the NFL, but that was 2015, and this is 2016.

While replacing 180-sack performers isn't easy, this year's Grizzly "D" is reloading with a young but physical unit that works smarter, not harder, under new defensive coordinator Jason Semore, spreading the pressure around the field.

80 or 90 plays. 18 or 180 sack performers. Outside of Kyle, are there real journalists who cover the team? Come on...
