SEMIFINALS: YSU Penguins @ EWU Eagles

No surprise here. JMU has been battle tested all playoffs and eastern really lucked out on their side not seeing any seeded teams. It will show in Frisco.
 
So why is there NOTHING on ESPN's website about this game? You wouldn't even know it was being played...

Not great ... but not quite that bad. While it's true they do not have a commentary article on the FCS game, they are covering it on their "Scores" page. Besides a play-by-play sequence, they keep a running post on the game stats. At the half, Kupp had 8 catches for 155 yard receiving (adding to records he already has) and 2 TDs (which may tie him for another all-time record). Of course, the game is also being broadcast on ESPNU. (The field looked better last week when it was covered by snow, which cut the glare. :lol: )

It's not much consolation, but the TV announcers for the D-II championship game (televised today on ESPN2) had quite a lot to say about the JMU-NDSU game last night. They also mentioned the (then) upcoming YSU-EWU game.

So ESPN does not exactly knock itself out over FCS football (and its pitiful following), but they do not totally ignore it either. The reality is, they have a much (much) greater financial stake in the future bowl games ... so they talk more about those than anything else (including, sometimes, the game they are supposedly broadcasting).
