Seeding

The Griz are the best win either of those teams have, and Sac's was when we lost a ton of starters.

Neither has a win as good as our wins against UW and MSU.

Not sure where we'll end up, but the committee has shown it will buck head-to-head sometimes.

Lol..if you are saying your msu win is better than there wins over you, you are saying the cats are better than you, lol

Lol we didn’t lose to Weber State though (yes, I know we didn’t play them). Point is, our two losses were to current top-10 ranked teams. EWU has a loss to unranked Weber State.

Eastern also has 2 combined loss by 4 points when they had no kicker….beat 2 top 10 teams, including the Griz, and an FBS team. Tough argument either way…I could see ewu and Montana getting the 4/5….will be interesting to see what committee does with sac

They were ranked #3 and you guys couldn't beat them. You also lost to Weber.

You're also doing the same thing implying we aren't good enough for a high seed, but also claiming that beating us is a big deal because we're so good.

I don't know how the committee will seed it, but to say it's cut and dry is 100% wrong.

My top 8 seeding predictions:

1. Sam Houston
2. James Madison
3. North Dakota State
4. Eastern Washington
5. Montana
6. Villanova
7. Sacramento State
8. Montana State

The last 4/5 could really end up anywhere within that range but I would be really surprised to see Montana fall below a 6 seed… And of course I never played the game beyond high school ;-)

I’m thinking that if we get the 4 seed, it’ll be the Washington game that gives us the edge.

Just curious how you justify the Griz over Sac State (two top 10 wins, beat UM in Missoula)?

Mostly based on the lack of love Sac State has received in the polls but like I said, the bottom 4/5 in my list could probably go in any order

I gotta say and I have said for the last 3 weeks or so that Sac can not get any love. I think if they were to win it all they might get into the top 5 in the polls.

Sometimes wins and losses unfortunately are not all that matters in playoff seeding. MT often got higher seeding in the past just because of the number of fan attendance and the revenue stood to be made. It is a factor considered. Also name recognition. MT is a more well known brand name and that has an impact. Should Sac St in a completly fair world be over MT? Yes most likely but the playoff selections are not a neutral or completely fair process.

which is why we might get a 4 over ewu. they will get 5000 fans we will get 23000 fans

For the same reason that Sac has been ranked behind the Griz all season, even with their head-to- head win over the Griz. If you haven’t figured it out by now…

"EWU should be seeded over Montana because they won the H2H 2 months ago, but also above MSU because getting blasted at home 3 weeks ago doesn't matter."

You cannot use H2H to make this make sense right now. It's going to come down to the entire body of work.

IMO, the only BSC team we should be behind is Sac. It might not turn out that way, but IMO it should.

Griz will be 5-8 seed, no way the Griz get a 4 when ewu and sac both finish with same record and head to head wins. I think the big sky gets 4 seeds tho…

H2h wins y’all got us
25000 tickets sold > 8000
Committee ain’t blind.

Hahaha😂, we actually dropped in the polls after beating UNC, so odd.

First, a given: Defending champion (and undefeated this season) Sam Houston State will get the #1 seed. There are four (10-1) teams behind that. Does anyone really think that JMU and NDSU won't get top seeds? What are the odds? That means there are two (10--1) teams – Kennesaw State and ETSU – to compete with a bunch – I count six – of (9-2) teams for a #4 seed. I'd like to think a Big Sky team will get it ... but it's not likely to be the Griz. FWIW: I'll be surprised if the BSC gets four seeds ... five bids, yes, that many seeds ... I'm doubtful. (Would obviously love to be wrong.)

There are a lot of good records out there. We will find out tomorrow morning. And some teams are going to be very unhappy.

Sac State deserves the highest seed but likely will not get it. As for seeding EWU above UM - not an easy thing to justify. EWU beat UM, but MSU beat EWU, and UM beat MSU. Which one was the most compelling win of those three games? 34-28 #6 EWU over #4 UM on a dropped Hail Mary at the very end of the game with the Griz backup QB in? 23-20 #4 MSU over #5 EWU in Cheney? 29-10 #7 UM over #3 MSU? The last one was the most clear ass kicking from start to finish. Though EWU beat UM, there were some big injuries to UM in that game and the Grizzlies controlled it for the first three quarters. It was not a thorough beating like the Cat-Griz game, and the fact is, EWU has lost some luster in the last few weeks after losing their OC. I still think they deserve a seed, but not above UM. I think the Grizzlies deserve a 5 seed at worst, likely a 4 seed. Bottom line is BSC was the most competitive conference this season.
