Question is....why were they (supposedly) wearing Washington State garb? I think that's what I heard unless some drunk kids got their story wrong. That's as disturbing as anything.

This confusion would've never happened if UM went back to the original colors.

Stitt just has no knowledge of UM's history, he doesn't even know about our copper and gold days. Everything starts with the head coach and trickles down to the everyday actions of the players. If we had a 'Montana guy' at the helm, the players would have been sporting our throwback colors, there would have been no confusion.

Agreed, G-Bears. I won't go as far as to blame Stitt, but I would like a return to the original colors like many.

So 2 other players were involved but no comment on them by Haslam or Stitt, and apparently no suspension. But JS gets a 2 game suspension without any charges because his name was published on a potential self defense case.

The UM policy is ridiculously stupid and unfair. If someone is charged, fine I get it But no charges and this bs discretionary decision that a panel of conservative self righteous administrators make is just flat wrong. They are worried about one thing their precious image. They have no balls and stand up for no one so they can look good. Pathetic.

Sad, silly and just plain dumb. Certainly we do not expect college athletes as a whole to be anything close to role models but at some juncture can we hope that team focus in middle of a season could keep our guys at home. Perhaps sans ‘conviction’ a two game suspension is a bit over the top but do we actually have any guidelines within team decorum that dictate stupid behavior that hurts guys that try to avoid trouble. Pullman, 2 am house party??? Who’d a thunk Pullman would have had any bearing on our efforts to crawl out of mediocrity!

I am amazed when I read thru this thread. The student athlete code of conduct is pretty straight forward and easy to understand. Do people really think that Stitt sets the rules and lays down the punishment? For one thing Stitt needs to win as his job depends on it. If he knew he could keep any good player from being suspended don't you think he would do whatever was in his power to keep that player on the field?
I think the Griz athletic department has had the NCAA and DOJ breathing down their throats so sure they will be walking on thin ice. Also not one person here knows exactly what JS has told the coach or the AD.

Sky, very serious question. What would you have the coach and athletic director do for these players based on the set and established policies of the University of Montana? The policy is not a suggestion and is a whole lot more fair than before it was established.
