"Among these players is undrafted linebacker Patrick O'Connell, who made a strong impression in his initial outing with the team. In the Seahawks preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings, O'Connell played a pivotal role in the team's 24-13 victory, recording five tackles, including an assist on a critical 4th and 1 situation in the fourth quarter.

During his media availability this week, when asked about O'Connell, coach Pete Carroll praised the rookie for his performance during training camp.

“Patrick has done a nice job," Carroll said. "He’s done a really good job in camp and has been really consistent. I don’t know what it is, but he’s got a feel for it. He didn’t always play inside backer; He’s been in some other spots growing up. His Montana days served him well. He’s a really good football player. He had two legitimate, really good tackles, form hits, and good reads. He’s had interceptions on the field out here in high-tempo drills."

O'Connell looked pretty good in the multiple series I watched of that game, like he belonged in the NFL.
