Sdsu vs siu

That game was a lot closer than it should have been. It's no wonder the bobcats were able to hang with them. That is not any where near the Jacks of last year.

The jacks are the same team as last year. Just a year more experience. They are the best of the FCS.

Well not by much, apparently.

Has any team ever just dominated everyone on the schedule in route to a NC? Who do you think is a better team?

I think there’s more parity in the FCS this year than there has been in years. I don’t think one single team stands out above the rest. They may very well be the best team at the end of the day, but it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see them lose, and lose in the playoffs.

I don't disagree, the NDSU years are a thing of the past.

It was really interesting going back and watching the abbreviated version of this game. SIU was able to move the ball, but had two critical turnovers. I would say SDSU was able to move the ball and it never felt like the game was out of their control, but they didn't blow out SIU and their 3-3-5 defense. Overall stats are listed below and were pretty close.

SDSU SIU
1st Downs 15 20
3rd down efficiency 4-12 4-12
4th down efficiency 1-1 2-3
Total Yards 308 308
Passing 161 225
Comp-Att 15-22 20-24
Yards per pass 7.3 9.4
Interceptions thrown 1 1
Rushing 147 83
Rushing Attempts 32 32
Yards per rush 4.6 2.6
Penalties 13-125 7-45
Turnovers 1 2
Fumbles lost 0 1
Interceptions thrown 1 1
Possession 31:50 28:10

Thanks for this. That’s incredibly close

I read somewhere that a hundred yards in penalties is the equivalent of leaving seven points on the table. SDSU likely left more than that.

Nope. There is SDSU, MSU, and everyone else. Wide gap from there down. um had a bad game and lost by two scores to an average team. When SDSU had a bad game they still won. Cats went on the road to face the #3 team, played sloppy, and still won by two scores. Yes I sound like a broken record here but the griz just are not a team that is at the same level as SDSU or MSU this year. Maybe next year. This will continue to become clear as the season plays out and we get to the brawl.

Well I disagree. In fact, I'd bet money at this point that SDSU does not win the chipper this year.

lol, well I'm certainly not taking that bet! Cats have a real shot of winning it all.

One of my favorites….

I’ll say it again: There’s a gap, just not where poorgriz drew the line.

Maybe next year, poorgriz. Maybe next year.

This is just classic and deserves a frame on the wall.

Has anyone heard from poorgriz? He hasn’t posted for a month…I hope something serious didn’t happen.

he's probably off laser-focusing on some talent or shopping for pleated khakis

Something serious DID happen. He hates the Griz in an insane sort of way and everything he spent his last year screaming at people was wrong. He's devastated. Read his posts. Of course he's gone.
