I am pretty knowledgeable about the game, making astute observations just about anytime I watch football. My friends often laugh because as we watch a game together, I will make a comment, and immediately following the on air color guy will say what I just said.

I was watching the replay last night and I too felt something just wasn't right. I kept watching, but it was bugging me so I rewound and watched the sequence again. And yes, because of the coverage presented to us viewers, it did appear to be 5 tries at the line to gain.

I also went to GoGriz to check the play-by-play. Anyone that was watching the coverage and thought there was an extra down was very astute.

Wow, can't we all just get along Like I said, on TV it was really confusing because they never showed a penalty being called, just two 4th down plays and the ball was pretty much in the same spot after the first 4th down.

Speaking of ESPN 3 I hope they get their shit together. I bet we missed 5 or 6 plays coming out of commercials. And speaking of commercials there was a couple of guys puking in the men's room at the Grandstand in Billings, said they could not take that frickin ESPN XMAS carol promo they played over and over and over again uke: uke: uke:

Sorry I could not make it to the game to actually hear the ref make the call. Wife said hell no to the game since our daughter flew in from Seattle for the weekend. She did let me go hunting on Friday though while they power shopped. Told me I needed to work off some turkey

I have mentioned this very thing in a couple other threads, but just can't pass up this opportunity to say it again. That frigging yo-yo that ESPN3 had doing the color, the one with the Minnie Mouse voice, drove us absolutely nuts. He wouldn't SHUT UP !!! Then, almost EVERY FRIGGING commercial break we had to listen to that Jummy Falon looking dude singing that famous Christmas Carol "Ol Ang Sign". (Thought that was a New Years Carol, but doesn't really matter). Then, missing plays coming back to the game late. That whole mess made Chris Beyers productions look like Emmy Award winners to us.

Can't help but wonder if the SDSU coaches talked to the refs about Holmes in advance and asked them to watch him. Ever since spring ball he's inched as close to the LOS as he could, just to gain that extra advantage.

The guy sitting next to me at the game who wasn't my regular seat neighbor was getting unreasonably pissed at Holmes for it, shouting, "bench Tyrone! He doesn't need to be out there." To which more of the regulars around me scoffed at.
