Well i had typed up notes on my phone but they got deleted so ill go off the top of my head.
Gfeller- played unbelievable, raining 3s. must've made 7-10 of them. looks noticeably stronger and more confident. very aggressive looking to shoot or penetrate almost every time he touched the ball and seems to have the ultimate green light. plays extremely hard all the time. love this kid
Weisner-similar to Gfeller he was very aggressive and hunting his shot. he was loud and vocal on the floor. he should have a big year scoring. also played mostly on the perimeter
Gregory-looked to take the ball to the basket a lot and was pretty successful finishing at the rim. hit a couple 3s very vocal as well
Dunn-very aggressive defensively, as expected, a few steals and hounded Gregory bringing the ball up. mostly ran the offense and didn't look to shoot too much. hit a nice step back jumper and a couple finishes through contact. also very loud and vocal
Breunig-didnt do a lot offensively, seemed to press, hit a 3 and looked good at the free throw line. imposing physical presence and will help on the boards immensely. hurt his knee on a terribly ill-advised drive that resulted in a charge but did return. also would've fouled out in a game will be very good player for us.
Bradshaw-played the point almost exclusively. didnt shoot particularly well but looked more aggressive than last year. had a very nice drive and tough finish early.
Edmonds-started slow but picked it up towards the end. handled the ball more than i expected
even playing the point a bit. made the game winner on a pure isolation play out of a time out. and had a 4 point play. looked to attack
Nwosu-didnt do much, had some really good looks from 3 but was off. his slow release worries me. is well built and strong
Krslovic-definitely thicker than i expected, strong kid. needs to develop more post moves and doesn't appear comfortable going over his left shoulder. had a couple nice finishes, good hands and will be a good rebounder in time. also seemed to have a very good feel passing the ball, a couple nice passes for easy buckets. excited about his future
Boehning-big kid, still pretty raw. did very little but played hard. decent length and movement skills. would really love to redshirt him
Dejong-didnt do a whole lot but he definitely belongs athletically. very impressive dunk on a nice dump off pass. a bit undersized but he looked to me to be a player that may be deserving of a scholarship down the road. very impressed with his frame and athleticism.
Kemp-also loud, vocal, and constantly communicating on defense. couple tough finishes, but turned the ball over too much. just doesn't have a lot of ball skills, and isn't tall enough to finish over length. played very hard, looks to have fully bought in.
Lopez-played very hard and unselfish but needs to keep his emotions in check. really got down on himself a couple times screaming, pulling his jersey over his head. air balled a couple 3s but also hit one and a couple mid range jumpers. had too many turnovers but most were on right idea passes he just poorly executed. needs to be way more consistent.
Offensively we will surely play at a faster pace. it also looks like we will attack of the bounce with more players. everybody looked to attack almost as soon as they got the ball. tough to judge because Gfeller and Weisner were just absolutely on fire.
Defensively we worked on a lot of trapping in both the half and full court. it looks like we will look to pressure and speed teams up more consistently than in the past.
sorry i don't have more, darn "smart phone".
Go Griz!!!
