I find it ironic that you, of all people, 75, are critical of a little self-confidence and promotion.

Just sayin.
Of course you are. On cue. As predictable as the sun, the moon, the stars ... and the Cats.

Don't forget 30,000 words from you about how great you are.

The Troll is loose again. Here goes another thread.

I'm trolling because I find it ironic that you hate Stitt because he doesn't lack for self-confidence? Granted, it's an interesting approach to attempt to deflect attention from the point of my post.

Naturally, you are heavily concerned, in a Hall Monitor sort of way, about ironies showing up on egriz without your permission.

I am, at a minimum, grateful that you don't charge me rent for the space I obviously take up in your head.

People need to stop paraphrasing or using their own context on Stitt. I wish the mods would delete anything somebody "claims" Stitt "said" if it isn't a direct quote with actual attribution. 75, you've mentioned you have an extensive background in journalism. I think you of all people than would respect this request. It's getting absolutely stupid on here what posters are claiming Stitt "said, versus what he actually says. I have never seen a direct quote, not once, where Stitt said "my offense can beat anybody's defense." If I missed that one, please feel free to show me, with attribution.

That exact quote was new to me as well. I guess I don't know someone....that knows someone.....that knows someone....

75, what a great troll post.

About half the posters, especially including you, would be gone for all the times you have climbed into Stitt's head and claimed to know what he was thinking, looking for, planning and scheming.

As I noted several times, "it was absolutely stupid" how much personal "desire" was placed on poor Bob Stitt's shoulders by so many remote control fans. And how moronic most of it actually read. I am still chuckling over "Stitt is looking for quarterbacks that are smart and fast." Didn't you write that gem? And celebrated what a change that was over all other college coaches who had never thought of that before?

When people like you are so far in the tank you have no self-awareness whatsoever, it is not sad, it is simply amusing.

In this case, Stitt said it at a press conference prior to the Cal Poly game. I am not the first poster, however, to have noticed it.

Personally, I'm pretty neutral (mixed) on Stitt so far, I saw some good and some not so good. I want to see more good in the future. After all, he is the first Griz HC to win a playoff game in their first year since Joe Glenn.

The booster criticism I hear is more focused on his arrogance (My offense can beat any defense), refusal to adjust to what the defense is giving, and low priority on a running game. He has a lot of "I" rather than "we" that can be a turnoff as well.
Odd that you didn't object to the comment nine months ago. I'm just special to you, aren't I? Especially considering that it was the subject of considerable commentary. Perhaps just a selective memory on your part?

But, thanks for your usual venomous willingness to derail yet another thread. It must hurt that bad.

Nope, never wrote that. In fact, I am one of the few, BW included, who have understood from the beginning, that a fast, mobile QB is way down on Stitt's priority list.

Secondly, I'm starting to agree with other posters now that you sidestep every single time someone directly asks you a question on this board. You have never answered a single question, and in fact, you failed to provide proof that Stitt said that in a pre-game presser. Fortunately, all of the pre-game pressers are available on youtube, so we'll just go look at the CP one and see if that quote was ever uttered. The proof will be in the video and in Stitt's words.

Hav, welcome to the least exclusive club in America!!! :thumb:

Gasp! No Mo! There was no uniform thread to insert that tidbit and it certainly didn't deserve it's own in my eyes so there it is. Carry on. Furthermore I hate uniform threads.

Maybe you should ask the original poster. You know, a "source." Or would that fail the yellow journalist in you? Are you Gwen?

Anyway thanks for yet another thread derail. I'm beginning to agree with other posters that an isolated population of five posters derails or hijacks just about every thread these days.

Notwithstanding Kemajic's recollection of the remark, it certainly sounded like Stitt, and I do remember him saying it as well. It is something he would say. He's getting something of a reputation, no doubt.
Montana coach Bob Stitt is a little different cat. He’s an extremely confident guy, that was obvious back in August when the Griz beat the Bison in Missoula, but his postgame press conference Saturday evening reeked of an absolute stubbornness to acknowledge NDSU’s obvious defensive improvement throughout the year or the Bison’s game-planning that utterly befuddled Griz QB Brady Gustafson and the Montana offense. I understand that you don’t want to kiss your opponents’ rear ends and pump them up too much, but Stitt almost seemed delusional. He kept referring to the game “snowballing” on the Griz and when I straightforward asked whether he thought the Bison defense had improved since August (which it markedly has) Stitt said, “Well, it’s the same guys.” He had also said in some remarks earlier in the week that the Bison were “the same, exact team” but that HIS team had improved markedly. If a coach watched film of the Griz’s victory over Montana on Aug. 29 and then watched film of the Bison’s final three or four regular-season games, there’s no way you could see the same defense. It’s almost, oddly, like Stitt viewed the victory in August as some sort of lasting moment whereas Bison coach Chris Klieman had told everybody all year that his defense was going to struggle early in the season and be better by the end of the season. Klieman has been spot-on. That’s why this quote from Klieman was so telling: “You don’t win national championships in August. You win the suckers in December.”

Somehow you find new lows. This interview is readily available on YouTube. Why didn't you just post that?
