Definitely! Just don't know if a D1 team can be found to fill in that date at this point in time.Jerry Punch said:The non-conference conference games happen with this realignment. Recall California and Colorado having non-conference "conference" games last year. It's just the way it goes. But I bet you guys would rather have a D1 win than OK Panhandle D2 blowout, am I right?
And not for that price which is the driver. Pan Handle St. will come up here for peanuts. This one will not be changed. And it's getting very late for the UND date to change, but there is a large driver for that in that converting a road date to a home date immediately takes care of the budget cuts. I doubt the buy-out is small for the UND home and home with our reputation with the Dakotas and UND is probably not real keen on deferring it to another year.'68griz said:Definitely! I know what you mean, and i am not a big fan of playing a D2 game either BUT.............It seems nearly every team in the SEC plays a drop down game....i know for a fact we arent the only FCS team to play a drop down game. I understand people dont care for playign a drop down game but shit, ashamed? Give me a break.....SEC is the best conf in the nation and they play drop down games. Get over it most temas do it, no need to be so dramatic is there?Silvertip said:The Oklahoma Panhandle State game makes us all Ashamed...
BOOM! well said :thumb: ...bama is playing georgia state adn we are playing The kids from the panhandle...whats done is done, crying abotu it isnt going to change a damn thing.mtgrizrule said:What gets me, no matter what the schedule is, people bitch.
If we take a tough road game (upper tier FCS, or BCS pay game game), business owners bitch about lost income for 1 less home games. Fans bitch about injuries and travel etc.
If we have more home games but with lesser competition, fans bitch about the quality of the team they are paying good money to see, and not getting any better from a game like that.
I can see both sides, and I wish the play down games would never happen. I don't mind them if we balance it with a tough OOC game too, home or away. Either way, a team just needs to care of business. It be nice to see a year where the school and program don't have to hear bitching from unhappy fans about scheduling. Be thankful we have a great fan base, program, and have what so many programs wish they had what we have overall. GO GRIZ!!!!!
