Saylor's hands

Brock Landers said:
As anyone else in the NW endzone can attest, that would of been a pretty amazing catch. It's disapointing he didn't catch it, but I'm not going to start throwing him under the bus for it

Please! Give us a break. I make a valid observation about this kid, and you say I am throwing him under the bus. I'll bet you get weary of being politically correct all of the time and afraid to be objective because it will make you look un-politically correct.

That ball was not an easy one to catch could have been caught but it would have been a great snag. Why you would say Sayor has stone hands after that play I don't know.

Because I have watched him drop many balls in practice, and he dropped 2-3 balls in the two scrimmages. That's why! The coaches have been getting on him to "catch the damned ball"!

sure he would be the first to say he should have caught the pass, because he should have,,,it was not too long, the replay clearly did show that he dropped it, plan and simple, it was right on the money...no excuses!

I was sitting right next to the play. It was a catch that should be made 90% of time. Posters should stop making excuses for a perfectly-thrown pass that should be caught.

Damn, Pickle Boy, you drop the ball everytime you post on eGriz! Maybe you should focus on yourself once instead of everyone else with whom you have any contact whatsoever. That was NOT an easy catch to make.

Yes it was, and Saylor would confirm that

I thought we were talking about that play not what happened in fricken PRACTICE. Takes a receiver some time to get his quarterback figured out-Trent Mckinney's deep balls usually land 5 yards out of bounds. No one makes that catch 90% of the time that was a tough ball to catch.

I thought he could have caught the ball. If we're trailing by 3 with 30 seconds left he better catch that ball. It was right in front of me. With that said he has a lot of assignments one of which is to block down field. He must do that pretty well. One ball doesn't make a season. I'm sure he has a high light in his future.

Yes, that ball could have been caught and yes it would have been a great catch. The ball was a little out of reach even though Saylor did get his fingertips on it. 87.5% of receivers would not have come that close. The play was right below me in the NW endzone.

The nearness of you probably distracted him.

At this level of football, that play needs to be made. Saylor is probably being pretty hard on himself for not making the play. I would be a little pissed at myself for not making the play. The qb did his job. Thankfully, the play did not hurt the GRIZ.

Saylor will be fine. Sure it was more nerves than anything. Being a first time starter as a sophmore, you're going to be anxious and get out of your comfort zone and make some mistakes. Some of the other younger guys at other positions made some mistakes as well. Happens every first game. With experience will come fewer mistakes. Bet he catches the next one.

the wind have anything to do with his miss? Also, looked like Nygen's muff of punt had some wind issues along with the fact that their guy really got a lot of height on his ball? Just saw it on the tube and you couldn't tell?

Please, when you start quoting percentages who would catch it, you lose all credibility. Molden, Farris, Mariani, and many others would have made that catch. It was a perfect pass, and NOT a finger-tip miss, as you said. He got both hands solidly on the ball.

Some ogf you amaze me, and routinely miss the point as if you have reading difficulties. My comments were NOT just about this missed catch. Saylor has been having trouble catching the ball in practices and in scrimmages too.

Last week Trent couldn't throw a pass to save his life, now he's throwing perfect ones?? Oh, the wonderful world of Growler1.

He got more than his fingertips on it (watched the replay). Definitely should've hauled that one in. That said, I'm sure Saylor will be fine as a WR. Drops happen...

No. No difference. Try to find a new sophomoric word to call me. I think you have just about worn out the douchebag moniker. :thumb:

You mis-quote me worse than the main-stream media mis-quotes Rommey. the kid throws one great pass and instantly becomes peyton Manning! I guess you forgot about the too-high pass which was tipped by our receiver and picked off by SD.

Do you ask the mods to ban every poster who owns your sorry arse?
