Sat: UM @ Weber State

Here is what I want to hear postgame. We are struggling offensively. We need to put each player in position to succeed for the team to succeed. We have no choice but to make changes offensively. (I do not care if he expands on that or gets specific.) Right now the only regulars that deserve minutes in their roles are AJ, Sharp, and Jack (I do wish he would not fadeaway in the paint though).

Either the personnel needs to change or we need to dedicate ourselves offensively to moving the ball around, getting it inside, etc. This teams needs to do what Larry's teams did offensively. Yes that does mean Selvig, Hasquet, and anyone with a phsyical advantage posting up inside!!!!!!!!

Our offense is pathetic too often. On the brightside, I am not bitching about DEFENSE!

Our problem here is simple. We do not have a good head coach. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is disappointing to hear, I was hoping I would get to watch this but couldn't as a result of a party. Game after game it sounds like a broken record here.

This team needs a week of practice with Bobby Knight!!!!!!

How I wish I had more experience. Right now, I would love to be in Missoula to be the Hard ass for even 1week. The days of struggling bigs shooting 3's would be over. Fadeaways done too, (well AJ is consistent when he uses it, so he would be the exception.) Unless a 3 was absolutely wide open in transition, the ball would be going inside every time or the likes of AJ, Jack, CET would be penetrating when the inside post was taken away.

Tinkle's concept is not bad, but reasons beyond me they do not have the discipline to carry out the concept very often. I would not even try changing the x and o's part of this team, but who does what, and what is acceptable and what is NOT!

The offense against ISU and Weber State is unacceptable. Sorry but if it were me, the 1st thing I say after this weekend is "Jordan and Derek, you both are keeping your asses inside offensively!!!! If you do not like it, then we will find someone who does, and during that time, you are sitting by me on the pine!!!!"

Not all that talented if you consider team speed a factor in "talented". Once again, we have posts hovering on the 3 point line and Selvig seems to have adopted this bad habit, at least this game. Selvig is not effective out there and turns the ball over way too much when on the perimeter. Our 4's are either being coached to stand out there or are ignoring the coaching. I think our only hope is to get CET back and have AJ start at the two. Stauds has played his way on to the bench. :(

I completely agree on the 4's. Yes, Stauds should be benched too, along with Hasquet. It should remain that way too until Hasquet helps the team out where he is needed, inside.

Damn, did CET get any minutes? Did he even make the trip???
Did not see him on the bench.....dark picture on bigskytv though and hard to see who was on the bench.

Wow,, missed the guys game but just read the thread...wow. Not suprised but wow...
I went to the Lady Griz game. 82-54 Griz, damn near perfect game and everyone played a lot. Aj's wife struggled somewhat against a second half press, Selvig coached her up and let her stay in and learn ..trial by fire.
No one is ever out of position on D and when Weber started out hot from outside Selvig called a couple timeouts and chewed some ass about not getting out on the shooters. Nipped it in the bud. The lady Griz came out cold, hung in there and then methodically took Weber apart. Great post play, penetration three pointers, lots of assists and trips to the line.
We are stacked for the future with size, speed and shooting two and three deep and good for the next 4 years. This Lady Griz gig is one frikkin outstanding program. :D

AJ's wife, Shaunte Nance-Johnson, has not played for over a year, so you just need to cut her some slack. She is getting better each game. Maybe shaking some of that rust off finely. She spent a whole year coaching prior to coming here.
But, Stephanie Stender is playing well off the bench and is the first one off the bench. She will be taking over the role of being the big 3 point threat next two years that is played now by Sonya Rogers.

I had to spend about 4 hours tonight doing my least favorite task: Plumbing. But perhaps it was preferable to watching this POS.

Whoa dude,,,I wasn't giving her shit and I know all about her background. I thought she played hard against a relentless press. I was praising Selvig's coaching. There wasn't a thing on the court tonight that I would dare to criticize. It was a blast to watch especially the younger ones.

<Edited out the portion referring to late_addition's post since he removed it>

Right now what this team needs is two POST players on the court at the same time. Sharp and Qvale play inside. Sharp is undersized, but hustles his ass off. Qvale is young, a good shot blocker and rebounder, but a bit rough on offense right now. We have a post player that's proven he can score down low, and get a lot of rebounds..but seems to be playing more as a shooting guard right now. The other big guy unfortunately has also been playing a lot outside lately too, and that's a bit scary.

They also need CET back. Starting CET & AJ at the same time will give us the quickness on defense and offense that we are lacking right now.

Maybe a lot the problems we see with our lack of an inside game does fall on the coaches though.. If a player isn't listening to the coaches though (if that's what's happening...and I'm not saying it is) then the coaches need to do something to get the players attention.
