The San Jose Mercury News has often been considered as among the best newspapers in NoCal, so -- not finding much online about the San Jose State men's basketball team -- checked in with the Mercury News.

Uh... a preview, of sorts. Not a paragraph on tonight's game with Montana. But, if you scroll down on the Sports header a long, long way... you'll find this brief season preview, entitled:

From other sources: The 2016 Pomeroy Basketball Ratings (Kenpom) has the Spartans ranked at 348 (out of 351 NCAA Div 1 teams) while USA Today's Sagarin ratings have the Spartans ranked at 332.

I thought it was a typo so I double checked MSU's sched. They seriously scheduled a home and home against these guys in the same year. Even their bball team has cupcake schedules.
